What other brands have a Surly Pugsly type bike

I ride for Greg Matyas' bike shop, Speedway, so I'm a little partial to the Fatback brand. They pretty much dialed in the geometry for fatbikes, and the little touches are what set them apart. Plus, they're made in America, which is always nice. The guys up here are pretty dedicated to fatbike...

    Defenders in 1981?

If you're in the market, talk to aka rover. He's plugged in like few other people up here, and he might know of something. In addition to a yard full of Series, he has a 110 and 90.

The Gubblemobile- Series III from hell.

Looking back, there were probably a lot of routes I should have gone. I doubt I would have gone the hybrid path (i.e. sticking a Series body on a colier chassis). First off, I should have never bought the original pile. I have a wife and 3 kids, and an 88 was never going to carry them and...

Looking for a project series 109 4 door in Alaska

Right now I'm leaving the shackles on my truck until I sort out the suspension. It will be a while before that gets done.

Looking for a project series 109 4 door in Alaska

Ed's doing my P38 steering conversion, so he'll be cutting out the plates soon if you're interested in getting in on it. I got my box off of eBay, and shipping cost as much as the box did. I still need to pick up the intermediate shaft. I have a Scout II box/pump/hoses if you're interested...

It is lifted. You're thinking of it like a Jeep. It isn't one.

Looking for a project series 109 4 door in Alaska

It isn't exactly a project vehicle, but that guy dumped a bunch of money into the rig to get it where it is. Like all projects, even at the asking price he was taking a bath. Maintain it, tweak it slightly here or there, but leave it pretty much like it is now. Any major "improvements" would...

The 2013 Range Rover being driven on the Las Vegas Strip

While we're going over guidelines, perhaps you should review the following: Family Friendly Content (PG): A large percentage of our members have families with small children. They should be able to sit and read the forum with their kids without fear of what they will read or see. 1. Language...

Looking for a project series 109 4 door in Alaska

aka rover has some pictures of a virtual Series graveyard up there he pillaged. When he gets back from the end of the world, you might hit him up for details. He's pretty well plugged into the market up here, so he hears about a lot of stuff well before it hits the open market.

The Gubblemobile- Series III from hell.

Well, with the amount of welding aka rover is already going to do (motor mounts, power steering...) and the current state of the frame (more or less stripped), now is the time to contemplate such foolishness. Not a huge priority at the moment. I stopped by today and started cleaning some parts...

The Gubblemobile- Series III from hell.

I'm so confused, I think I'll just let you guys decide for me. To be honest, the only thing I know now is that it will be running on leaf springs. I can't do another major modification. Ed's plan of longer front springs does have me intrigued, though...

    Help Me Buy This Rover!

For someone who is doing ground up rebuilds, it certainly can be an option, although I think you're right that most of the attention is starting to go towards the 110s and 90s that are starting to come across the pond. Can't say that I blame them, with the potential profit margin being so much...

    Help Me Buy This Rover!

True, those guys are certainly an option, but that's going to be close to $4000 for a bulkhead by the time it's shipped to the US (allowing for options and coatings). I'm not questioning their pricing structure, because I know they're manufacturing from scratch, but a repaired and galvanized...

The Gubblemobile- Series III from hell.

Spent today continuing the disassembly of my CJ-5. It was a bittersweet experience, as I've pretty much bolted on every part over the years. On the bright side, I was organizing things into the "bolt onto the Land Rover" pile and the "sell to buy things to bolt onto the Land Rover" pile. The...

    Help Me Buy This Rover!

Well, to be accurate no Series bulkheads are available from Land Rover anymore, but that doesn't mean they're not available. You can always repair a bulkhead or send it to a place like Pangolin for repair. It really comes down to how much time/money you want to spend.
