5th 4Runner replacement rear side windows with storage locker.

I have been contemplating doing something along those lines on my 3rd gen 4runner. Check out dirt lifestyle on you-tube...he fabs a set up for his rover build.

    Bumper builder hardware (swingout) supplier?

I got my swingout hardware from 4x innovations. I saw them on a you tube channel, and checked their product out. I also got a diy bumper from coastal offroad, great product. I have one of their front bumpers on my 3rd gen 4runner. They make a left and right opening kit...very stout, double-shear...

    Here we go again...

As you can see from the photos, it will have a nice flat top to it. The dimensions will be 5w x 9l x 4h. I would like to figure out a rooftop tent for my girlfriends boys to go camping with us:cool::cool:

    Here we go again...

Here's a mockup of what I'm planning. Would love to have some input, and constructive advice on construction. The plan is to use 3/4" birch ply for the main structure

    Here we go again...

I have your book on building teardrops. I have been reading it, and plan to use many of the tricks that I've see you use.

    Here we go again...

Well, started to build a teardrop of sorts a couple years ago, and after sleeping in it one night with my girlfriend, found it to be not quite what I had hoped. So I sold the original tub that I had built out of plywood and fiberglass. I have modified the frame to make it 5x9. My question is...

Northern Tool 4ft Overland Trailer Build

Not to be critical in the least, but it would seem that you most certainly have the skills. What made you buy the northern tools base trailer, to cut it up, and build a bigger trailer? Wouldnt it have been just as cost effective to build it out from scratch? When i built my teardrops frame, I...

    gmrs radio location

So...finally decided to pull the trigger on some coms for my 3rd gen. I picked up a base, and two handheld gmrs radios. I'm looking for a place to mount the base unit, and have been thinking about pulling the ashtray out. Has anyone here done that? Would appreciate ant photos of location other...

    Rath's Trailer build - We're done!!!

I would leave the tongue longer for now, at least until you triangulate it...if you intend to take this trailer on the trail, you will want to be able to jack knife it around tight turns. Also, i would suggest either a wheel spacer, or different wheel...there is not enough clearance for...

    rear shocks

Not new to the site, but new to the Toyota side of this. I recently purchased an 01 4runner sr5, that the previous owner had started a build with a hodge podge of parts. I know most is ok, but not thrilled with the rear shocks. He said that he used a set of toytec rear shocks from an fj cruiser...
