Manufacturer has a chart for what pressure to run at what axle weight and speed. It shows 55mph for the uneducated to avoid problems. At 60-70 mph the front axle was at 70psi and the rear at 85psi per the chart. 40k miles or more easy. At 70 they are louder than at 60mph for sure. Lots of...
I have had the pleasure of driving this rig. It does have 24 fwd gears, 8 crawl, 8 working and 8 driving. 265 HP. In 2005 I don't think they had an option for the axle speed. It is limited at 70mph. Your best mpg, comfort and quiet is at 60mph but it will do anything up to 70 mph all day...
Rob Pickering is the best! He knows all things Unimog and has been a huge help when I have no idea what the Mog was trying to tell me while on extended trips.
Sorry Jacques, I forgot to tell you it is about 29ft. long with the "garage" box taken off the lift and the lift stowed. About 33-34ft. with the lift down.
Hey Thanks. I appreciate the help. It is an amazing rig. It loves to be driven and I don't have the time right now. It seems a shame to have the most amazing off road rig sitting in an RV storage lot :)
Hi Jacques. the Mog is in storage right now, from memory I am within an inch or two on Dimensions. It is 8 ft. wide and 12.5 ft tall with the roof down. It is about 16ft. with the roof up. Great view up there! Yes you can change the steering quickly from left to right. Let me know if you...
Hi Aerostar, WBevans posted a craigslist ad for my Mog. It is now on Expedition Portal. For comfort and usability it has been the best. We have forded rivers, driven on the sand and pulled a firetruck out of the mud. My family put 20k miles on it in 2 years and now life has changed. We can...
This Unimog may be one of the most insane Off-Road vehicles legally allowed on the road. With the fully equipped camper on the back the whole system is self sustainable for up to 2 full weeks with four passengers. You are only limited by fuel and water and it has a pump and filter system to fill...
