Ford E350 7.3 IDI mods, Uhaul Monster Camper Van?

There are a few guys that have built rigs from u-haul trucks that have threads here on expo. Here are a couple https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/ulysses-the-uhaul-strategic-surf-assault-vehicle-project-build.142357/ and...

Join cab to box for pass-thru on u-haul truck

Found the seal that Ozrockrat mentioned, then found the company that manufactures it. They have several sizes for different gaps. I agree with you guys, the flexible seal is the way to go and save a butt load of work. Thanks for all the help!

Great! I won't be 4x4 so I think that I will be fine. Thanks for the info!

    E350 10ft Box Van

That is my thought as well. My truck is longer (176"wheelbase) so there is more room for flex, but I have looked at shuttle buses with the factory roof cut out as well as the back opening and found no evidence of stress (stuck doors from the cab twisting, etc). I thought that it would be a good...

Ozrockrat, Is this the material that you are talking about ? http://www.fixmyambulance.com/product-p/uni-ed-5383.htm Also I just remembered that Burlydirtyhippy did what I am talking about on his build. I posted on his thread to see if he has had any problems now that he has had his truck on...

    E350 10ft Box Van

Hi, I'm planning a u-haul truck build and want to cut out the front of my box for a walk thru opening at the cab as you have done. Have you noticed any signs of stress at the cab to box mounting point or the doors getting tweaked from flex?

Join cab to box for pass-thru on u-haul truck

That's what my concerns are. The fuel filler will not be bad to handle. The box mounts are not a problem. Worst part will be cutting the bumper mounts and re welding. I have a welder so I should be able to handle that. My main concern is flex from the solid mounted box to the cab that has...

Join cab to box for pass-thru on u-haul truck

The truck is a cutaway cab chassis so the cab has a flange already there to bolt to. It currently has a fiberglass cab back bolted on. I was planning to remove the fiberglass cover and slide the box forward and bolt to the box. Attached is a picture of a cab similar to mine, but without the...

Join cab to box for pass-thru on u-haul truck

Thanks for the reply. I hope that the box will never have to be removed after the build. My wife would like to be able to go to the back of the camper while traveling if needed, would also be good for parking in nasty weather. My wife is great about not asking for much, so when she does I try...

Join cab to box for pass-thru on u-haul truck

Hi everyone, I have recently purchased a E-350 17' u-haul truck to convert to a RV. This Truck will not be converted to 4x4, but will have Weldtec's 6" lift so that my wife and I can travel rough dirt roads. I would like to remove the fiberglass cab back and slide the box forward to fasten to...

Need a little help designing lifepo4 system with alternator charging

I thought this sounded to easy. So the best way to do this would be the sterling dc to dc charger. I would have to go look at website, but doesn't this replace the built in regulator in the alternator to get the higher voltage?

Need a little help designing lifepo4 system with alternator charging

I am using the SBMS120 that has a capacity of 75amps for each input. I was planning to use the 40 amp version of the relay, so this shouldn't overload anything? I am a woodworker not an electrician so not trying to argue, trying to learn.

Need a little help designing lifepo4 system with alternator charging

I was planning to run wire directly from the relay into the second input on the solar control!er. The controller that I will be using will perform all the cell balancing, voltage etc. It sounds to easy doesn't it? If you see any problems with this plan let me know. Brian

Need a little help designing lifepo4 system with alternator charging

Hey everyone, I am in the beginning stages of planning out a lifep04 system, using the electrodacus controller. I to am wanting to have the ability to charge from the alternator. I found that Mastervolt has a current limited relay. Here is a link Mastervolt Charge Mate Pro 40 - Electronics...
