I relocated mine where yours is but stood it up vertically not horizontal as yours. I did have to get a turnbuckle to connect to brake lever. If yours works that way and your happy keep it. I just wonder if it's going to be a shin buster sticking out there

I run the stock wheels with an a radial tire. I thought about keeping the tubed tire, but my fear was no way to be able to repair a tubed tire on the trail. I'm sure the chances are small but it was enough for me to go with a radial that a can plug if needed.
