Somehow I have missed this thread over the years? Nice Ranger. I miss mine, I don't like the new ones.
I had (in order)
89 Long Bed 4cyl 5 speed
91 Super Cab 4cyl 5 speed
89 4X4 Long Bed Auto V6
2001 XLT Super Cab 4.0 Offroad.
I loved the 2001. Should have never sold it!
My wife plug the DC side into a 110 outlet once, burned a trace on the board. There are pictures and explanation in the Edgestar Mods thread. I just soldered a small piece of wire where the trace was burnt. Been running like that for years now.
My FP430 quit working on 12v after a mishap involving our home fridge dying and my wife calling me at work asking where the cord was for the Edgestar. Long story short she managed to find a 120v cord that had the same end as the 12v plug on the Edgestar! It worked fine on 120v after that so I...
I grew up in Michigan! I have been out of there for 30 years and I am still surprised when I can take something off with a ratchet instead of a torch!:D
Those are Torsion bar IFS. There is no long-arm for them. There are lifts and BDS makes a coil over conversion (or the used to) but it is a lot more than $1000.00. The recommendation to go to TRS (the Ranger Station) is a good one. Tons of info and knowledge on all years of Rangers.
The WJ is much more comfortable. If you get the right set of leaves the articulation is fine with the XJ.
There are plenty of after market bumpers, lifts, etc. for the WJ. If you are worried about comfort then go with the WJ. (if you can find a lower mileage HO V8, that's even better)
They are no where near as big as a Tahoe. Up to '02 from the front door forward they are a Ranger. This is not a bad thing, just means they are not big. The good thing about that is that there are lifts for them. They came with V8s which is another plus! The biggest reason that you probably...
I have had mine inside my vehicle for 10 years. Mount it solidly and it will be fine. Worrying about the relief valve popping or any of the other 'what if' scenarios is useless.
