    Family Camping In The Steens

We visited the Steens last summer as well, truly a spectacular place, very few people in July. Next time try some of the primitive campsites like Jackman Park. I didn't notice any mosquitos when we made a quick bathroom break there. Be sure to also check out the Alvord desert for some...

Overland Explorer Expedition Cabin on 2020 Ford F350

Actually I meant the sleeping bed. I have been watching this manufacturer for some time now, they put out really nice rigs.

Overland Explorer Expedition Cabin on 2020 Ford F350

That is a nice looking rig. What are the dimensions of the bed, it might be the pic, but it looks a little small. Keep us posted as to how it all works out.

Double cab long bed Taco vs. double cab Tundra

As others have said both are capable, it comes down to how much gear are you going to carry? The Tundra is a lot bigger, but only has about a hundred more pounds of carrying capacity depending upon trim level, and is worse on gas mileage. Tacoma will be more limber on tighter trails for sure...

Tundra TRD Pro for first overland vehicle?

Replies so far have brought up a lot of great points. The Tundra TRD Pro, usually has a lower carrying capacity than say the Offroad version, which is important if you put a camper on the back. Domestic 1/2 ton (properly setup) and 3/4 ton will let you carry a whole lot more camper. And yes...

    Lets talk shovels

I just grab my fiberglass handle round point shovel from my shed, which I believe is 12 gauge metal, round point (probably $35 from Lowes or Home Depot), and strap in down in the bed of my truck. I also carry Max Trax boards. This combination has helped me out of a jam more than once. I...

Will my Tundra bed rails hold the weight of my EZ Lite camper?

I am not sure about the Tundra bed holding up, my Tundra seemed to have pretty sturdy walls before I sold it? Definitely upgrade from the C clamps and buy some clamps specific for that application - something like - https://www.amazon.com/truck-topper-clamps/s?k=truck+topper+clamps

    Big custom camper sightings

I saw an Earthroamer being hauled on a flatbed tractor trailer, Westbound on Interstate 70, just East of Frederick, MD. Don't see many of these in the East! I only got a quick glimpse, it was dark grey or dark brown, orange MaxTraxx on the back. Belong to anyone on here?

    My Journey

SP crater looks like a cool place. You can easily see the lava flows from some of your pics and definitely from Google. Summit looks like 7021' from https://mapper.acme.com/
