    Living in a Land Rover

I don't think a D1 is an option for sleeping in, I'm not tall and would really struggle to sleep in mine. A d2 with its 10" longer internal space would be far better

Cheap synthetic winch line plus a question

I may have misunderstood, I thought the OP already had synthetic line. I wouldn't bother with steel line for an extension, just junk it and buy another synthetic.

Air Lockers vs. electric lockers vs. Cable lockers

Indeed,my mate modded his 80 and 70 series by changing the wiring so he can do this. I'm not sure but I think it involved isolating the part of the switch that required 4L to be selected. It wasn't hard and didn't take long to do

    bridging bars with PAPs

That's really good, I just chucked the bars on but you have given it a lot of thought and really improved the idea. I like the channel nuts and the tapered ends. I actually keep one with the bars on and one without, as often I need either one set up or the other but rarely both at once.

Cheap synthetic winch line plus a question

My cheap Chinese winch has cheap Chinese synthetic winch line and it's been fine for 5 years. There would be no problem I terms of functionality, I guess you are wondering if I will physically fit, I would have thought it would be OK. I have a 75 foot new synthetic winch line with a hook on...

Land Rover Boise to the Rescue!!!

Sadly Britpart suffers a reputation gained years ago, which they have rectified as well as they can. Their aftermarket stuff is no better or worse than other aftermarket stuff, indeed if you buy an 'OE' replacement part these days it will be Britpart supplying the parts.

How did you pick what size hilift jck you have?

My 48" won't get my disco axles off the ground with 32" tyres and 3" lift. Only way to lift the axles is with one of those strap things you hook into the wheel, or the standard bottle jack. If you really feel the need to carry a hi lift get the 60.

    LR3 Blew a Tire. Can I Get 2?

You are correct there, there is a tolerance in the drivetrain to allow for a 3% variance in tyre diameter bother forward/ aft and across the axles, this is to allow for production variance within the tyre (manufactured tyres are rarely the same diameter as each other) and to allow for different...

Discovery 1 Road trip preparation ?'s

I agree with not doing much other than maintenance, so I would change the oils, belts and the wheel bearings and that's about it, because you cannot predict when may or may not break other then the bit that breaks will be the bit you don't have. Maybe do the Prop UJs aswell. You will never (I...
