Leaving annex attached while folding up tent?

I'll roll up the walls of my annex (3 sides, no floor) and secure to the underside of the RTT base before I fold the tent up. So, the annex remains 'outside' of the tent. Now I simply slip the cover over the annex(which is now at the top of the folded tent) and the tent and zip it on. No...

    DIY polystyrene super-cooler

Good old American ingenuity :D I used a really thick polystyrene cooler (prolly 2" walls/bottom/top) used by Omaha Steaks and wrapped the bottom and the top with 1/8" lauan plywood, reinforced the ply corners, sealed and painted - I now have an extra cooler at minimal cost. The only drawback...

Pro's and con's of mounting RTT below cab height?

I recognized you didn't have the bed length, but hopefully caused you to think 'outside the box'. A vertical lift mechanism would/could work. Look for Box Rocket's trailer build in the trailer section for some ideas. Good luck.

How'd you learn to take care of your vehicle?

Sat there with my dad and got greasy/dirty... The internet has been a boon to us that DIY, I wouldn't have tackled a 2wd -> 4wd conversion without it - course, without the internet, I would've been happy with 2wd...

Seek out Box Rockets trailer build as he has a vertical lifting mechanism. I'll see if I can dig up a TacomaWorld thread on another solution. Truck box rack questions

A couple ExPo members have backyard engineered racks that allow the RTT to be transported at cab-height, but raised for RTT deployment to above cab-height. Link in my signature to my custom RTT rack build. I am not aware of any commercially available versions...
