    Insurance e-450

Yesterday I meet a couple with the 2500 sprinter that got register as a RV, the reason they tell me is much cheaper insurance rates.. (Totally faded and rusty red van and they still have full coverage for about 20% more than i pay just for liability) The insurance company and/or the DMV did not...

Show off you Laptop/Tablet/GPS mounts please

I mess up on my first attempt to build the cradle, I'm using Polycarbonate, but I'm not thermoforming it (those not really lend to it like Acrylic) so I use my little makita saw with about a 1.5mm of blade deep, my mistake was not taking into account if it was a "Inside or a outside bend" so i...

Show off you Laptop/Tablet/GPS mounts please

I have connections, I don't even remember where they came from but I have (In storage) like 15 sets of them (the clamps) great design, very rigid, silly light too, but I never own one, I'm a maverick freak myself..

Sewing Thread....A discussion on making your own adventure textile gear.

Whatever happen on Fight Club, stays o..... The amount of iterations at the race in between protection and projectiles is far more prolific than the Dopers at the tour the France and the UCI detection technologies, sometimes you just need to be 3 weeks ahead, but at the end they all do it...

Best Roof rack Cross bars... !?!? TracRac is a Thule product but not even on the same ballpark..

I got lucky and found three more beams This is the reason I don't mount my racks with the bottom tubes, they are usually compromise.

Best Roof rack Cross bars... !?!? TracRac is a Thule product but not even on the same ballpark..

Reason why I don't post much Sorry, extremly dyslexic and with sintaxis problems too, in any language.. This beams are made to slide Lumber, ladders, etc, they have round edges so the contact points is minimal (but more than just a slim corner) and has a angle of approach that is more...

Best Roof rack Cross bars... !?!? TracRac is a Thule product but not even on the same ballpark..

Check at the pictures, is very clear if you pay attention... Basically the roof is a "Balloon/boat" shape but not by much, 1 1/2" difference if I remember correctly, plus the "Rail bases" are angled and the roof clearance can be very different (It need to if not the water will puddle in the middle)

I hope you don't suffer from the same, Be careful/aware of this.. Even measuring with a tape the distances in between the channels on my land cruiser look the same..*the change in 3 axis" Well not even Close and here is the proof, Trust me i wish they were two straight lines.. Land cruiser...

Best Roof rack Cross bars... !?!? TracRac is a Thule product but not even on the same ballpark..

Best Hitch Receiver for Max Weight and Ground Clearance van towing!?

2003 E350 with a 7.3 I just took the hitch and did what it took to flip it, my frame has a "Step" about 1/4" difference, I fix that with a spacer, now the rack is totally parallel to the frame of the truck.. Sorry I forgot to mention I delete the tire mount, is to much precius space to waste...

Best Hitch Receiver for Max Weight and Ground Clearance van towing!?

I had to remanufacture the arm for the Kuat rack and since I don't have access to a welder I use a million bolts.. The "Beam" needs to be very long because I plan to implement one of this tire carriers using 80-20 and a old spare tire mount from a Disco I The tire holders are cheap and...

Best Hitch Receiver for Max Weight and Ground Clearance van towing!?

Bingo the "Whatever you call the Bottom segments" on my Van are very Rusty, in fact the tree pieces are separated from each other, so the idea is to reinstall the new segments in a diagonal fashion, I have to admit more for "$hits and Giggles" than anything else, just to make the van look a...

Best Hitch Receiver for Max Weight and Ground Clearance van towing!?

Wow that Hole in the middle of the bumper is totally calling for a Hitch, very cool.. Well you can always weld a extended mounting plates to the hitch so you can use 6 bolts instead of the four (in my case) Also the frame of my van (2003 7/3 E350) has a "Step" on the hitch mount (1/4") So I...

Best Hitch Receiver for Max Weight and Ground Clearance van towing!?

Well I don't have a Engineering deggre (eleven years of school crap) but I have been making "Bullet proof" Stuff (Literally and figuratively) for more than 40 years with very little failures.. Then again, i don't intent to tow anything heavier than half the capacity of the van (Ones in a...
