    LR3 / Discovery 3 Coil Conversion +2" Question

I agree, as these units age and become cheaper the 2nd and 3rd hand owners are not as, let's say committed, to the EAS as the original purchases of the truck. Probably because they didn't just recently pay $80K+ for a vehicle that's main unique feature at the time was an air suspension system...

    LR3 Coil spring conversion kit

I did the Atlantic British kit some years ago. It has the OME HD lift springs. It's performed perfectly. Even loaded up with 7 people and a roof rack full of gear. Stock system is good if it's in good order but many LR3's are in the sub $10K value range and you need to decide for yourself if...

    Lower control arm

I fitted the Polly bushing to the rear of my 06. The fronts need doing as well but the wife wanted her car back, it's a ***** of a job to get old bushings out so I got board and I kinda wanted to evaluate the front and rear separately anyway. I used the orange 'Dynamic' bushings with red sway...

Calling LR3 and LR4 lowers, loyalists, cool aid drinkers and skeptics...

I thought the LR3 was to be the trail rig? But I see your point. They are a little chubby. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Calling LR3 and LR4 lowers, loyalists, cool aid drinkers and skeptics...

Never mind the Toyota. If you are honest and unbiased the real choice is a Ram Power Wagon crew cab. Or a Ford Raptor or any 4wd domestic pickup. They are comfy. Has all the room you ever could need. Tough truck power train and running gear. Lots of aftermarket support and parts are available...

    Land Rover discovery

Unless you need the extra room of the DII a DI is easier/cheaper to modify and a better bet long term. You will be able to buy a nicer unit for your $5000 as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New to us daily for the wife. Suggestions?

I have three kids and they fit in our LR3 just fine? It's no Ford Expedition or Chevy Suburban but it's very good for its size. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Utah area land rover specialist?

Any reputable garage or body shop can handle it. It's not that hard but it does require dismantling the front of the vehicle and altering certain trim and facia perminently. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

LR Discovery Sport launch in Roseville, CA

Sadly Land Rover no longer make anything that you can "build" into a trail rig. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Wheel advice

There are other options beyond 18" OEM or the 17" steelies L8 sells. I have Touren 18" wheels on mine. That photo was taken after my wife ran over a Ford Focus, totalling the Ford. The LR just needed a new bumper, grill and headlights. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Where do I start (Land Crusier guy considering Rover)

The dismal reliability reputation of the Discovery II in North America is why Land Rover decided to call the successor LR3 and not Discovery 3 (as it was named everywhere else) to distance it from the previous model. That about sums it up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Road & Track - Defender

I just don't care. I don't care about a unit I can't buy here that comes with special trim and paint. I don't care about $150K Range Rovers. I don't care about the new RRS that can lap the race tracks faster than any other SUV. I don't care about the Evoke, Discovery Sport, Freelander or...

    Is it really that bad?

Just buy an older LR in the best running condition you can afford. You will find out pretty quickly if you like it or not. If you do, great. If not, a good older LR always retains its value so you will be able to get your money back. Oh, and try to keep away from consumer rating...
