Fiberglass cloth on plywood: order of operations

Ask my wife about that ;) she has the actual amount written in blood somewhere I’m sure. We ended up close to triple. Quality composite stuff when you aren’t buying commercially and in bulk is brutally expensive. A panel kit from cmp I thought was really pretty reasonable and even though I have...

Fiberglass cloth on plywood: order of operations

Check out idasho’s build. His has been on the road for years now without issue. My two cents is that at the end of the day. It won’t be cheaper. I started out with the same notion but the west stuff is expensive, quality glass mat is expensive. It just all really adds up over time. All that...

Fiberglass cloth on plywood: order of operations

You’d be far better off buying premade panels from someone like Terraops (CMP) or similar. Even for very experienced fiberglass folks like myself building your own panels is a lot of work and achieving the right strength to weight ratio at home is very challenging. There is a lot that goes into...

    Provan Tiger Bengal Thread

Looking for a regular cab tiger, ideally one that needs work on the interior since I'd planned to rebuild the layout anyways. Please pass on any listing that come up! :)

WHO HAS MADE THEIR OWN PANELS?

As a guy that has built lots of panels, I will say the learning curve for making them strong, light and inexpensively is pretty tough. I generally advise new builders that in the end, you will save money buying pre-fab.

    Bulb seal

Trimlok, uni-grip, Steele-rubber. most of these are sold on Amazon as well which sometimes has better deals on small quantities (a lot of this stuff is only sold in 250 lineal feet or greater)

    Thoughts on 2013 Ford E450 XLT Cutaway, Used chassis 6.8 V10, 65k miles, $7k

e350/450 frames are pretty stiff, but youd need to do either a big poly bushing or spring mounts. Particularly for with a TC BOX, they wont tolerate being torqued continuously. For that set up, you'd really need a subframe that allows for flex.

    Source for lifting roof actuators?

it usually has to do with quality of internals, IP rating, but ultimately, accuracy. If you do an earth cruiser style lifting roof, cheaper is ok, but I wouldn’t go cheaper than PA ( firgelli etc). If you do a hard sided lifting roof, it needs to be accurate and have a very robust parallel or...

    Source for lifting roof actuators?

Linak ( LA-36) and progressive automation are both options but there are quite a fewYou need something that allows parallel operation if it’s to be hard sided. They have to go up evenly which requires some of position feedback control system. linaks customer service is atrocious and they are...

Still for sale. A few interested parties popping up. Its a unique rig and one that takes someone in the know to really understand the value intrinsic to it. One thing I failed to mention in the ad as well is that the rig comes with a negotiable amount of support and guidance. I do a fair bit...
