    DIY Squaredrop trailer in Minnesota

Hi guys, I have posted in the Camper Van section many times in the past, but my new project doesn't fit in very well in that group. I'm currently in the process of building a small camper to pull behind our van. (a second bedroom) I'm documenting the build on youtube and a little bit on...

Convertible Bed/Seat, What Are They Called?

I bought a jack knife rear seat from a ford conversion van and put it into our Express van. I found it in a junk yard for around $20. ...I removed the fabric and adapted it fit our build. I cut up a king size foam mattress from Amazon and put upholstery around it. We added an extension into...

Adding door window to Chevy Express question

The non-window doors on our vans are completely different. (the sheet metal is different) You can buy aftermarket windows that match the sheet metal of the non-window vans (CR Laurence makes them)...but really: it's much easier to go to a junk yard and buy a door with a window already in it...

Chevy Express Van DIY spare tire carrier

10/17/2023 Just an update: I currently don't have the time to bend and sell tubes anymore. If you can find a fabricator in your area that bends tube, then show them the video above and they will most likely be able to follow the directions on making a hoop for you. Thank you to all the...

    Quigley LIFS

My 3500 Quigley Express van rides much softer with Load range C tires versus the stock E range. (I upgraded the size so the capacity is close to the same....and I don't tow heavy items). However, it sounds like your ride is too soft? I wonder if the suspension parts are warn? rear sway bar...

Chevy Express Van DIY spare tire carrier

I had some time to make a video that shows how I bend the tube in case someone else has a similar tube bender. I'm using a 120 degree die with 6" radius.

    Chevrolet Express Front Bumper

The actual GMC bumper needs to be cut a little and brackets need to be fabricated in order to get it onto the Express van, but I like the way it looks when it's done. With little fab work, I'm sure any aftermarket 03-07 Sierra bumper will work on our vans.

    Chevrolet Express Front Bumper

Nice job on the bumper! It makes sense that the aftermarket 03-07 Sierra bumpers might fit since the body lines are very similar to the Express grill. Here is a photo of the Chevy express grill laying next to the GMC Sierra bumper:

Budget build on an old Roadtrek

budget build: if you don’t want to wet sand and polish your headlights, then you can buy some new cheap headlights on eBay. also, for the cost of a diod (under a dollar), you can wire the relays so your headlights stay on when your brights are engaged.

Chevy Express Van DIY spare tire carrier

That's awesome! It looks great so far. I put my latch on the stock bumper, but I have seen photos of other people sticking it out from under the floor (so all mounts are on the body). What are you planning to do for your latch?

2021 Savana 2500 2.8l Duramax, Tufport Van top. Sportsman/Clydesdale 4x4. Why or why not?

Are the options you listed a dream list or a must have list that you put together after using a van for a month or two? ...It might sound odd, but I would suggest not buying your dream van right now...rather, just buy a cheaper one that is already converted. (Roadtek, sportsmobile, DIY, etc)...

Chevy Express Van DIY spare tire carrier

I have a couple custom bent tubes available and ready to ship if anyone is interested in building a spare tire carrier for their vans. The price of metal has gone up, but the price for each hoop is still the same: $150 plus shipping. UPS shipping from Minnesota is the only option right now...
