Best place to mount a Ham & CB antenna on 4-door Wrangler

Just make sure you press the switch! Don't ask why lol What about the HAM radio antenna? Motor mount there too? I use my HAM 10 times as much as the CB radio. I think because nobody checks there CB radio before hitting the trail so about 50% of the guys radios don't work.

Best place to mount a Ham & CB antenna on 4-door Wrangler

I've lost 2 antennas now  The brush, or rough terrain can make them come loose and fall out. I'm now running this one. Diamond Antenna NR72BNMO Dualband Mobile Antenna. It's 13" tall and works awesome for a base loaded antenna. I've using it for a few years now and would...

    Manifold Cooking

I guess that would be a good gift for those that have everything, worst case it goes into the Christmas white elephant gift pile.

Tire chains, snow, mud, and airing down.....

Snow is some odd stuff, one day you can drive on 5' no problem. Another day the stuff won't pack and you sink at every turn. I have bead locks and have gone to 4 psi, the tires are almost flat by then. But with on board air its not an issue. First thing first don't go alone into the back...

    Tire Carrier Hinges - again

There are hinges that use a bronze washer top and bottom and some that use a bronze sleeve and some that use both a sleeve and washer. You could use all steel on steel, as the number of cycles is low. You only open your tail gate so many times in a year. I did not want an easy swing open...

    show me your flex

That's a nice looking rig, street legal, some side and rocker protection and flexes great. Looks to be a great expedition rig!! I would trimmed the rear fender below the bumper if possible, otherwise the first rock will crinkle the whole quarter panel. The aluminum plate up front does not...

Court order closes 42+ trails in the El Doradao National Forest (US - Sierra Nevadas)

Yes its out of control. Off topic, but locally the city wanted to put solar panels on the old city landfill. This too was blocked by so called environmental groups. They said the panels would affect the hawks in the area as they would not be able to get the mice. They showed a map that...

Court order closes 42+ trails in the El Doradao National Forest (US - Sierra Nevadas)

Fact: the 42 route in this thread are closed. Forget the map, they took it off their site or moved it. Not propaganda, fact. Even if I posted it you would find some other BS reason not to believe it. But that is hi jacking the topic of the thread. Yep you have it right we need to...

Court order closes 42+ trails in the El Doradao National Forest (US - Sierra Nevadas)

The other map is a couple years old, I'm sure I could find it, but its a mute point. "Wild Lands" Protecting public lands from the Public. That's the new bumper sticker. You need to get out and do some camping / exploring this summer. You will find a lot of places that were open 5 years ago...

Court order closes 42+ trails in the El Doradao National Forest (US - Sierra Nevadas)

This is not the map I was looking for, they must have updated there website. But this one works too. Note the read is little to no Human use.

Court order closes 42+ trails in the El Doradao National Forest (US - Sierra Nevadas)

Maybe you need to check out there web site. They have a map where the goal is to keep people off of about 2/3 of the United States. The enemy is humans. They are good at getting groups to fight amongst themselves too. There are worry they did not take care of the earth and will go to...

    Tire Carrier Hinges - again

Brian I found your pic's somewhere on the world wide web. :sombrero: When I did mine, I looked a lot of different designs and pick what work for me. Since I built mine too, that left a lot or room for design ideas. Here's a vid from last summer and you can see it handles some tough...

Best grounding to protect the radio

9 times out of 10 for alternator whine or ignition noise is a ground loop. This is caused by grounding the radio at some point other then at the battery or the point where the battery is attached to the body. This is more noticeable at lower transmission freq. Commercial installations...
