    Simon's M416 Build

Finding some used wheels will probably be your best bet. The wheels i used came with the rusty trailer that I originally bought.

    M416 questions

All you need for the lights is to get new bulbs. I took the 24V ones to the NAPA store and asked for 12V versions, and I replaced the bullet connectors with a 3 pronged delphi connector from McMaster. I bought brand new tires from cokertire.com

Thanks! I've spent way more time and money than I imagined I would. All those little things add up quickly.

    Simon's M416 Build

It's been a while since I have made any progress, but the trailer is ready for camping use :) I just finished putting Monstaliner on the inside of the trailer this weekend, I should be able to start using it in a week or so once the liner fully cures. It is a two part roll on bed-liner that...

    7 pin RV plug

I meant that he should use the 10ga wire as you suggested instead of a ground wire the same gauge as the lights, so if he is using an off the shelf 4 wire harness, he should make a new ground instead of using the one from that harness.

    7 pin RV plug

You don't necessarily need to run the ground wire all the way back to the battery, but I would use a good solid frame ground instead of the ground used for the lights.

I have had a few requests for the drawings I used to get the metal cut, so here they are.

    Simon's M416 Build

Here is how the trailer stands now, I am waiting on some bedliner samples before I tackle that project. I also reinforced my bumper and added a connector and a place for safety chains.

    Simon's M416 Build

It's bolted down with the tabs on the outside AND with 7 bolts securing the bottom floor to the cross members. This is from post #16. It shows the mounting on the bottom. Its the same mounting set-up that the M416 came with, just a little beefier :)

I paid 650 for the sheet metal on the trailer. 300 for materials and 350 for labor. And yes, the ends, sides, and bottom are separate. The pieces were cut on a water-jet and were absolutely perfect :)

I got a little more done today. I painted the tail lights and put new water tight connectors on the back of them. My 81mm explosive round crate arrived in the mail along with 2 50 cal ammo boxes. I started working on the wiring on the inside of the 81mm box too. The box has foam...

Congrats on your new purchase! Yours looks to be in much much better shape than mine was when I brought it home.

    Simon's M416 Build

Thanks Detour. Looking at that location more, it seems that the spare would interfere with both the parking brake and the landing leg. Today, I got the frame all together and the next step is wiring. I have an 81mm mortar box coming in the mail to be used for a tongue box to house the...
