Is there a map that shows Willow (the route taken by Lofgren and Henkel) as a trail linking Mormon Point to where the couple broke down? If so, someone screwed up.

If they were bent on hiking to the road, why didn't they take Sheep Canyon? No mountaineering equipment required for Sheep Canyon, and, if I recall correctly, the maps show it actually reaching the road, in contrast to Willow, which ends in a terminal loop.

Hmmm. He took it to a shop for brakes -- about as simple as it gets -- so I'm thinking there's not much Brad Van Orden happening here. But there's still time to earn that wernching merit badge. Looking forward to reading about it!

Short attention span. Buying a house, having a baby, becoming a new sales franchise, etc. do not make for the best of conditions for hitting the road. And this thread is a couple years old now.

I wish the USA had more beautiful, classic cars to go with its well-maintained structures and embarrassingly overstocked supermarket shelves. But it was heartbreaking to see all of the obese people there, hardly any of them smiling or singing with contentedness, and no one dancing in the street...
