The 05 Tundo DC Expo/Work rig

Hey thought about that but I'm just concerned the scoring I did compromised the strength of the wheel. Not sure if I want to drive my family around in a vehicle that we'll take on long road trips with wheels that the center might break out. Or is it just a cosmetic scratch?

The 05 Tundo DC Expo/Work rig

So after 3 hours of swapping 16 wheels for no reason except for possibly ruining 2 of the 4Runner wheels. I'm back where I started. That's what I get for pillaging parts off my runner. So my question to you Expo folks is 1. Just run the Trail finders and put money into suspension first then...

The 05 Tundo DC Expo/Work rig

So after over an hour of swapping 8 wheels I'm super excited about how it looks. I wanted 16" black wheels and I love those tires. Time for a test drive. I get about 20 ft down the driveway and there is a god awful grinding noise. Face palm! What an idiot! The calipers didn't clear. I originally...

The 05 Tundo DC Expo/Work rig

The Tundra came with brand new tires. Some 265/70 r17 Trail finder ATs. Which are a generic p rated all terrain. They have been driving fine but I'm kinda worried about they're puncture resistance. My 4Runner will be sitting for awhile till I have time for its next phase and it has 235/85 r16 E...

The 05 Tundo DC Expo/Work rig

I'm a general contractor and this will be my work rig too. So first order of business will be fabricating a lumber/safari rack. Being that I don't want an under shell mount cantilevered front lumber rack I have something else in mind. I found some used Yakima q towers and cross bars on eBay to...

The 05 Tundo DC Expo/Work rig

So after almost 20 years of using my beloved 87 1st gen 4Runner as my DD Expo/Work rig I'm moving into the 21st century. I was on the hunt for a 05 or 06 DC Tundra in the mid 100k mile range. I thought that would be the best value with quite a bit of life left on it. I also wanted cloth seats...

    2006 1st-Gen Tundra Doublecab Build

Man do I love it already! Especially after using my 87 4 runner as daily driver for twenty years . My shell is a Top One Workmaster and can't seem to find if that company is around anymore. I'll probably fabricate my own "ladder rack" and add a Thule bar on the cab for canoes etc. Are the...

    2006 1st-Gen Tundra Doublecab Build

I bought your twin last week. Great reading about your build. Is your rack threaded into the shell's framing members or through bolted? Thanks for the inspirations!

Thoughts on making a 2wd van more capable

. Got the Cooper AT3s 265/70r15 put on yesterday. Definitely the max I could stuff under it, but if it clears it clears. Couldnt be happier. Reassuring having these meats compared to the old passenger car pizza cutters.

Thoughts on making a 2wd van more capable

Anywho, I was doing some measuring and my current tires, 235/75r15 Cooper highway tires, measure 27" in diameter. The tires I want to get cooper At3 or General AT2 in 265/75r15, the specs on them say they are 29.6. Anyone have these mounted on a 7" rim and know what the diameter is in the real...

Thoughts on making a 2wd van more capable

I like it Petrolburner. Better yet get one of those dually wheel kits from Jc Whitney and run 4 33" mudders on the rear. All raked up it'd be pretty mad max. But then I'd need the 440 to get em goin.

Thoughts on making a 2wd van more capable

Mwilliamshs, I was just referring to a spacer block between leafs and axle not an add a leaf. I don't think that would affect ride quality. The van does have air adjustable shocks with a central Schrader valve on rear bumper. Even pumped up it doesn't change ride height maybe that is not the...

Thoughts on making a 2wd van more capable

And another thing. Would adding some 2" lift blocks to the rear but not lifting the front be silly? Just thinking it would get the *** end up a little bit. And usually when I'm loaded up she squats a little anyway. Front lift options for dodge vans seem to be non existent. If it was it'd be a...

Thoughts on making a 2wd van more capable

It also looks like I have a Dodge 8 1/4" rear end. So there might be several locker options, a few "lunchbox" style, Lockright, Spartan and Ausie. Being a low horse power and under 33" tire vehicle one of these could work. Any of you guys use one of these? Heard if drive them right they can work...
