    Tex's 2019 GX460 build

I love the classic ARB styling, but my vote is for the hybrid bumper. I went crazy on my old Jeep, and decided to keep our 5G 4Runner a bit more tame. I'm running a hidden winch mount and factory bumper and love how it looks unmodified.

Aluminium Roof Top Tent and Gobi Rack

I don't have an aluminum RTT, but I do have a 2017 4R with an XL RTT on a Gobi Stealth no rise. I have mounted it on the Gobi cross bars, but I thought they were a little to close to the roof rack and made it a pain to bolt it on. This is fine if you don't remove your RTT after every trip like I...

    Smittybilt Overland XL RTT-New product.

We've had a RTT for 2 years now, and with roughly 10k miles in road trips with it on, including a two week trip from TX to Canada. We always pre-pack it at home with the SB mattress, a 2" topper

Texas to Montana and Canada (Banff and Jasper National Parks)

We were checking a few different apps, and I looked around online a bit before for coordinates, so we never really had an issue. Campsites in the NPs fill up pretty quickly though, and sun doesn't set until after 10:30pm. Thanks! As pretty as it was, I'm not sure if we'll go back any time...

Poutine wasn't terrible, I just probably wouldn't order it again...I thought it was crazy that a restaurant said it was illegal to serve burgers any way other than well done. I'm not very familiar with Utah, other than Moab, the last time I was in Moab I was 12. As far as Colorado, I love the...

Canmore was nice, were you out and about for the Canada Day parade? Glacier was our favorite for hiking, but we didn't do quite as much on the Canada side. The weather was nice and cool the whole time, until we got down to Utah and then back home. It's gotten up to 100 this week...I'm no...

Texas to Montana and Canada (Banff and Jasper National Parks)

Day 13 Packed up camp and hit the trail, La Sal Pass. We didn't take any pictures as we were going on this one, until we got to a downed tree across the trail. The ladder on the RTT was just tall enough that we wouldn't quite fit. As we were discussing options, a Tundra with three Utah locals...

Day 12 Moab bound! [ Our first stop in Moab was Dome Plateau. While not as difficult as the trails I take my Jeep on, it was still fun to get off the pavement and pull the transfer case lever and try out the new Falken Wildpeak A/T3Ws. We hung around town for a bit; got dinner...

Day 10: Things were starting to wind down. We drove back through parts of Jasper and Banff NPs. Peyto Lake July 1st is Canada Day! We stopped back in Canmore for lunch and to check out the festivities. Had to try the poutine, not a fan.... We ended up heading back into the states and...

Day 8 continued We drove up through Jasper National Park on our way to Hinton, Alberta where we would stay at our second and final hotel for the trip. We saw quite a bit of wild life along the way. Another bear, making the 6th bear we had seen on this trip! Weren't 100% on beaver vs...

Day 8: Rafting day with Alpine Rafting. Somewhere along the way we passed 50,000 miles after two years and three months of ownership. We ran into town for breakfast before rafting. Canadian French toast... Fresh dunk in the 39* Kicking Horse River. Re-emerged. I hoped in the river...

Day 7 Another early morning as we made our way up to Lake Louise. We'd hoped to get the awesome blue/green and sunshine photos that you see online, but the weather was not cooperating with us. There weren't too many people when we got started, but as we returned the crowds were ridiculous. We...
