    Shower Awnings

I have the Alu Cab one it’s well made and simple to use. It’s mainly for the significant other or when in organized campgrounds. The few times I needed it it was a life saver. The only annoyance is they are like kites in even the slightest breeze even pegged out and I’m sure that’s not just an...

Anything compete with the Superlite for weight and cost..?

I’m not tired of any new rtt hitting the market they all have their niche. Bedding is one of those deal breakers for some and could care less for others. It was nice when I had my alu cab but doesn’t bother me now that I don’t have the option. Other things are way more important to me.

What's a great fan for sleeping in warm weather in RTT or Camper?

I use this one too great fan. I haven’t found a temp this won’t let me sleep in yet. No cords place ot right next to you or I hang it from some paracord in my tent kind of like a redneck ceiling fan. The big battery gives me 2 nights on low or 1 night on high. You can’t put it right next to you...

Awning height? 270 awning on mid height bed rack

I ditched my mid height rack specifically because I wanted an awning. Honestly your best solution is to go roof height. If I was in your situation and ditching the mid height rack wasn’t an option I’d do one of three things; a slumbejack roadhouse tarp, a darche 180 rear mounted on fabbed...

Awning height? 270 awning on mid height bed rack

. Here’s mine on 3rd gen short bed it would cover almost the entire rear door. FWIW at roof height I don’t have much room underneath at 5’9”. I wouldn’t do it. Awning solutions are one of the true bummers of running mid height racks.

Anything compete with the Superlite for weight and cost..?

I would venture 90% of rtt owners are weekend warriors not doing “real expeditions” and to make the assumption that this tent isn’t of that quality before anyone is ever seen it is unfair. This is just another “ my tent is better” post. Once these start to hit the market the dust will settle...

    Fridge or wait ?

decent chance just plugging into rear 12v won’t work. I’ve got the arb wiring kit and single deep cycle battery in my Tacoma. if you’re going to do it You should plan on at least getting the wiring kit. Depending on temps your standard car battery likely won’t last long overnight might even be...

Anything compete with the Superlite for weight and cost..?

This thread kind of derailed quickly.... The facts are we have 2 new options of rtts that just aren’t the same old rebrand from China they are actually something new and different similar to alu cab gen 3 or ikamper when they came out. Until these things start to end up on top of vehicles and...

Anything compete with the Superlite for weight and cost..?

Not sure how this turned into a terrapod advertisement. No reason to compare a $1300 tent to a tent with a $2900 Kickstarter price. The terrapod seems like a great product and I’m thrilled to see it not being 4K like a lot of other tents in it’s category but this is apples and oranges.

Anything compete with the Superlite for weight and cost..?

Well I’d want to see more but for that weight and price it could be a real game changer. At the very least you have to applaud them for thinking outside the box. I love the fact that you don’t have to buy a mattress I’ve never used a stock mattress in any of my rtts with that said at 50” you...

    Tent Decision

I have the tungsten 2 person it’s my river camping tent And I really like it. Bang for your buck they’re hard to beat. I think what you pay for above the tungsten is weight savings and if you arent counting ounces I think the most important things are features vs cost.

Camping Totes or Dry Food Storage

Cub packs and wolf packs. I use em for firewood, charcoal, food storage and sometimes even clothing. Basically anything that doesn’t stay in the drawers permanently that is trip specific. I can carry 4 wolfs on the canopy and 2 cubs on top of my drawers if needed.

Pics of your favorite fly water

Not the gasconade. It’s just a middling warm water stream that doesn’t see the usual canoe hatch in the summer or get much attention at all like some of the more popular rivers in the state even though I enjoy a lot of those too.
