Rolled over 100,000 miles at the beginning of the month!
At 100,015 miles I started feeling an odd driveline vibration. Long story short, it turned out to be driver side engine mount. That thing is burried!
Prepping for my spring Utah trip I changed oil filter, fuel filters, and replaced...
Now that you have decided to have a winch you have suddenly dramatically increase the odds of seeing people stuck on your adventures. [Mostly jeeps]. ;)
And most of them do not have any recovery gear, so bring an extra clevis, shackle, and receiver pin. :D
I am a big fan of starting with a small dual sport and practice for a season before jumping into a larger bike for commuting. Something in the 250-400cc range.
For the bikes you listed, sit on each of them to see how they feel. Test ride if you can. I've owned all except the 500. All would...

Unfortunately I have to replace the expensive rear...

I've done that trail twice on motorcycles (r1150gsa and drz400) and saw a landcriuser with 32s and stock bumpers navigate it just fine. I would feel comfortable taking my colorado zr2 with 32s. Not sure if i would do it with open diffs.
Just call ahead if you plan to take Bobby's Hole - it can...
I will probably do something similar until I connect the tank. Once I have the tank I will port it from somewhere more convenient. At least that is the plan. :D
