    Painting Aluminum

Spraymax 2k rattle cans are awesome. I’d start with their epoxy primer then their “hot rod black” and finish with the “clear glamour.” You’ll be about $60 in the three cans but it’s cheaper than a gun and compressor. If you have extra clear it’s also really great for restoring your headlights...

Installed the Sprinter third brake light/ backup camera. Opened up the stock hole, put it in and wired it to the head unit.

Thanks! It’s definitely been a fun project but I’m ready to be done for a while. At least with the major construction. I am excited to see the shell back on the truck though!

I appreciate the advice. Have been working on the shell a lot but not posting. Got it painted in the raptor liner just waiting to do the truck before reinstalling and finishing it up.

Yeah, you’re right. After giving it some more thought, I decided on one of the maxxair fans. It should blend with the roof rack and be alright.

Working on the mounts. Installed stainless rivnuts in the mounting plates and drilled out some urethane skateboard bushings to press fit around the shank of the rivnuts. Should make them easier to install, give a little flex for off road driving and prevent steel on fiberglass contact. The...

Decided to flush mount the side door instead of dealing with the mounting flange. Before: Glassed on the inside/ flange cut off and rough sanded: Gaps epoxied: upload pictures Made for a lot more work but should be much nicer in the long run. Eliminated a bunch of potentially leaky...

Agreed. I had a Craptor before the Tacoma and it was a hard swap from a comfort perspective. The tundra hit a nice middle ground.

I went from a 2004 Tacoma to my 2007 tundra. I would recommend the tundra whole heartedly. There’s no getting around the fact that tacos are small. I feel like there’s more room in my regular cab tundra than there was in the access cab Tacoma. The tundra is also quiet and comfortable. Especially...

The window does open on the passenger side. I’ve been looking into roof vents but I haven’t found anything I like. I’m also trying to keep it looking more like a work truck than a camper for stealthiness and the roof vents kinda give it away.
