    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

That was my impression too. I love the Defender, but the Bronco is going to be considerably cheaper and lets you take the top off. That's a high bar to beat. The Defender does have a head start though.

    I love that combo.

    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

I have a 2004 Land Cruiser and previously had a 2006 Land Rover. The Cruiser has an impeccable record, but it certainly isn't without fault. The timing belts need to be changed every 90k, the steering racks go between 150-200k, the plastic heater Ts have a tendency to fail dramatically, the lock...

    Putting 98-99 e-locker in 2003+ 100 Series

For anyone interested, here is the link to the thread on mud (https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/elocker-in-a-2003.849820/) Sadly it hasn't been updated in some time either.

    Next Gen Land Cruiser

I would take anything you read on Motor1 with a grain of salt, they tend to have "big scoops" they never seem to come true. While i can see them releasing a more off-road oriented Land Cruiser in the US, like a big 4Runner Trd Pro, i would imagine its going to be in-line with the 200 series.

    And so it begins...

Same. I know the Land Rovers just keep getting more and more reliable and capable, but this will always be the iconic Land Rover to me.

    That looks really nice.

    I have a confession

The five speed makes a big difference in the sluggishness from what i understand, but even so, my 2004 is not what i would call "sprightly". I find myself looking for more space at times too, especially with two kids and a large dog. However, I really don't want to go much bigger and couldn't...

    2006 or 2013 Land Cruiser?

They only need to be replaced every 90k miles and the cost isn't bad. I just did it on my 2004.

    2006 or 2013 Land Cruiser?

The 2006 isn't exactly a 70 series, it has navigation, hydraulic suspension, and all the computers that come with that. The 2013 does have about 100 HP more, which would be very nice when towing.

This is a key point. I love the tech and capability of the D5, but it looks just like any number of crossovers. The LR3/4 was a distinctive looking vehicle.

What is the best year for the 100 series Land Cruiser?

Personally, I would say the 2003 to 2005 are the best, because they have the 5 speed, 4-pinion front diff, and weren't saddled with AHC like the 2006-2007. The 2006-2007s do get VVTi which bumps horsepower from 235 to 275, which would be nice. Source: I own a problem free 2004

2nd Gen Armada's - Anybody doing anything yet?

While I don't own one, i have been eyeing them up as a possible replacement for my aging 100 series. From what I can tell, no one really offers anything stateside for it, although apparently you can piece together a lift kit from ARB apparently. I'm still holding out hope for a Pro-4x Armada...

    My rusty 100

I live in Wisconsin and bought my LC in Chicago. My rust looked just as bad, but my gas tank skid was gone too. The plus side? Both are cheap and easy to replace. Get new ones from a junk yard and bolt them up. Aside from breaking bolts during the replacement, I haven't had any rust related issues.
