Wyoming antelope hunt - video series

Hey guys, last month myself and a few friends headed out to Wyoming to hunt antelope. I'm from NC, and I took my overland outfitted 3rd Gen 4Runner out there, and we camped for pretty much the whole trip. It was amazing out there, seeing the seasons change as I headed north and then west, and...

Oregon Inlet NC Surf Fishing and Camping (and a quick preview)

Normally myself and a bunch of other guys head out to Cape Lookout in October, but this year we decided to head to Oregon Inlet instead, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It was my first time out there, and conditions were questionable, but the four day trip turned out great, and I put...

Exploring the Offroad areas of Gorges State Park in North Carolina

If you are coming from SC then you should try exploring the other side of the area that's supposed to be accessible via Mustard Ground Road. There is a lot on that side that's inaccessible from the Chestnut Mountain/Auger Hole Road side due to a gate at the NC/SC border.

Exploring the Offroad areas of Gorges State Park in North Carolina

I have long heard rumors of the 4WD trails accessible via Gorges State Park in NC. But there is so little info out there, we couldn't do a lot of route planning... we just had to go and explore, and be open to whatever we find. We had my 3rd Gen 4runner, another 4th Gen 4runner that my friend...

Biggest team to take to Cape Lookout yet

I have a drawer system that houses my kitchen and also acts as a sleeping platform when it's windy. The rtt is fine in the wind, but I sleep way better on the beach without the noise of the wind and with it in the 40s at night for us its also warmer in the truck. I love having the option to...

Biggest team to take to Cape Lookout yet

We always go in spring and fall since there is no place to escape the heat or mosquitoes in the summer. I haven't tried taking a trailer there yet, but I have seen others do it successfully. The only only thing to be sure of is that you reserve space on the ferry for both your truck and the...

Biggest team to take to Cape Lookout yet

It sailed over from one of the launches on Harkers Island and moored on the inland side of the island just across from where we were camping. He actually has a pretty cool nylon hoop type tent that he made and sets up on the boat with a cot and kitchen under the cover, so he slept on the boat at...

Biggest team to take to Cape Lookout yet

Ever since going out to Cape Lookout for the first time three years ago I have been returning twice a year and bringing my friends. A couple weeks ago we had the biggest group of guys out there yet for us, seven trucks and a hand built sailboat. Though the weather going into the trip...

Lesson 6: Don't let the locals get too close to the camera gear, no matter how fuzzy

Yeah that's the one. I think you would be fine with the full size. On a couple of the switch backs you would have to make a three point turn, but they give you plenty of room for that.

Lesson 6: Don't let the locals get too close to the camera gear, no matter how fuzzy

Hey PowerWagon (great truck!) check out this video I made a while back with more details on that road. And there are two other videos in that series with some other cool stuff from that area. Are you from VA?

Lesson 6: Don't let the locals get too close to the camera gear, no matter how fuzzy

You will enjoy it 68camaro... there are not many places in our area like this where everywhere the ridgelines are open and vegitation isn't overgrown. It reminds me of Shining Rock southwest of Asheville. BTW I like the new forums... nice work admins!

Lesson 6: Don't let the locals get too close to the camera gear, no matter how fuzzy

A couple weeks ago I took my 4runner up to Grayson Highlands in VA with a friend and we spent the weekend camping and filming the peaks and wild ponies. I made a video of it that you can see here, with lessons I learned from my friend on shooting good outdoor video. Enjoy!

Grand Canyon and Moab Family Adventure Video Series

Hey guys, I have finally finished putting together a series of videos for our trip out west this past September. I did the round trip from NC out to Texas, to Arizona and Utah, and then back home, in three weeks. You guys gave me a bunch of advice on where to stop to eat in Flagstaff, how hard...

Does the leaf spring shackle need to be in the rear?

Thanks for the quick responses! Now that I think about it that makes perfect sense that the shackle in the rear allows the axle to shift backward absorbing some of the shock. Thanks for y'alls help! Also its really cool seeing pictures of everyone's setups. Thanks for the inspiration!
