Well as many of you know, I used to own a 2002 Montero limited, a couple of years ago, I went to the dark side and got a land cruiser, has alot of fun and meet a lot of cool people, being a huge Mitsubishi fan something kept calling my name. And the hunt went on I sold my land cruiser and found a
2003 Montero limited 155k original Cali car, black on black
I like to do a lot of camping and small trails nothing to crazy with my family so this thread will be about small mods and maintenance as well as some part numbers to keep everyone in the loop.

First stuff I did was was order a good amount of parts as the owner prior had nothing done.
Full tank of 91 octane, marvel mystery oil in the gas tank
Fresh oil change 5w30 syn 4.8qts
Wix oil filter 57092
Wix air filter 42369

I added prestone radiator flush in the radiator to get some of the rust out of the system,drove 2 hours with it so far,gonna drain it again and add some more.

Vehicle is leaking pretty badly in the valve cover , and in dying need of maintenance so I just ordered all these parts.

Trac light come one once in a while and goes away as soon as the vehicle shuts off any idea why?

I also ordered eBay roof rails and roof rack... Looks great and fitment is perfect. Total cost of these we're not bad at all.

I decided to order 3 brand new coils pack since mine are stock with 155k, and since I have everything off I might as well replace them.

I also put in some thermorust remover in the radiator as it's super rusty in it, looks like it's never been changed out.

I drain about 3 gal and put in the thermorust and added distilled water. I'll drive it around like that for a week and let it do it thing before I do a major maintenance overdue on the Montero.

Might be going with a 265/75/16 tire...

All my stuff finally came in gonna tackle it in the next two weeks....

Looks like I'm going to remove the butterfly on the intake manifold also, looks like I just remove the screws and the butterfly and that it's correct?

Getting ready next week to do the install on everything,

Put a new optima battery yellow top,

Added some 16x8 outlaw wheels and some Cooper tires atp all terrain 265/75/16.

Ome 2914 front springs
Ome 2917 rear springs both med. I believe they are close to 1.5-2" lift.

Kyb gas adjust front KG9144 front
Kyb gas adjust rear KG5743 rear
Kyb SM5314 front top mount kit x2
My stock shocks are all original, I was planning to get some ome or Bilstein but my budget could not do it.

Here is a picture of just the wheels and tires, everything else goes on next week.
I'm also gonna remove the butterfly in the intake manifold

Dropped off at miyaki motorsports for the shocks and springs install, helps that the owner owns a Monty also he is in elmonte CA and super legit....and great prices... Can wait for it to be done

Ya, definitely reminds me of the old school style mixed with newer gen, one of the reasons I wanted these wheels. Can't wait for ADD front skid and all there other goodies.

I still haven't done the timing belt or valve cover gaskets yet. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks when I get more time.

Been a while, finally got everything off.
Lack of maintenance for the truck for sure. Glad I purchased all those maintenance parts.

Timing belt was cracking all around the belt looks to be original and water pump also, 3 of the 6 cylinder has oil all filled into them as the sparkplugs gaskets we're almost not even there anymore, valve cover gaskets we're a pain to get off as they were hard as a rock.

She almost done..... With all the new parts installed

Finally got the car back leak free LOL also installed a new Double-Din head unit which was pretty easy all in all super happy getting pumped up for my trip in August in Sequoia
