Pullout slat bed was a quickie, will remake with a drawer underneath. Other big cabinet has door to outside, perfect for pantry and pots/utensils.

It’s also good to see what can be done inside the existing cabinets... as much as I like seeing a good gut job.

Here’s my inside ‘kitchen’... achieved by cutting into the existing cabinets.

I plan on doing the bulk of my cooking outside. I like having the fridge centrally located since this rig also doubles as an office.

Beside the door has its advantages... but for our use I felt central would work well.

Half way through my latest build. I have the interior pretty much where I want it but still need to paint and decide on the UJOR kit.. I just cant bring myself to do it in winter, on jack stands, in my driverway... Any way it has a Whytner 47 qt, outdoor instant hot shower with 14 gal. Flat screen which tucks away in a cabinet, ship lap on the walls, subway tile backsplash etc.
What did you use for the backsplash? Looks great. I need to do mine in a few weeks

Heres mine. 1995 E350 4x4 by Advanced Four Wheel. 7.3 PSD with 108K miles. Dana 60 front and back. Built out by Leader Ambulances as a Fire Rescue rig for San Bernadino, CA. Running Springs Water District was the original Title holder. Currently building out the interior and adding creature comforts. ??

Yup painted all the red lenses black, and painted the diamond plate trim on the bottom black also.. I think it makes it less "ambulancy"

An ambulance type I had never seen before. Seems like it's all made of fiberglass and very spaceship looking. It's at my friends's place getting some work done and the owner will be using it for work, transporting people around I guess. Tons of small storage everywhere inside and a very cool dash modification (although you loose the driver's side air vent). To convert as a camper feels like you'd have to keep it mostly original as it'd be a pain to build cabinet, everything is curved and no wood or aluminum to attach things to, all fiberglass molding... But cool looking 7.3 nonetheless!

If you guys decide it's to much work to convert it, just send it on down to me in Florida, by way of U-Joint Off-Road for a 4x4 conversion, and I'll take it off your hands for you. :p

I think it looks cool and would make a great camper!

I introduced mine on the van pic thread recently but figured I should add it here too, though not technically an ambulance. Plus some progress has been made getting ready for an upcoming trip: awning, temporary bed platform, and some removals. It was an American Red Cross Disaster Relief Vehicle and its name is Clara, or Claravan, after Clara Barton.

2002 Ford E350, Wheeled Coach module, 7.3L PSD, 67k miles, 138" WB, 4.56 LS, SRW

Forgive the filthy roof, I had just brought it home.

Nice! I think the ERVs (Emergency Response Vehicle) are a great setup. Built like an ambo, but the utility of a box truck. Already empty inside and ready to build. Some windows. No side door, but that can be added.

A Red Cross buddy drives an ERV a lot. They call it “Merv the ERV” and it gets around!
