  • reno really doesn't have any Ham stores you pretty much need to go on-line. I like http://www.hamcity.com/store/pc/home.asp They seem to have the best prices and I have very good customer service.
    Check out the FT-2900

it's a great beginner radio and makes a good radio for a trail rig. Very easy to use but with enough features to get you started. I have the FT-2800 (the model that the Ft-2900 replaces) in my FJ40 and love it.
Let me know if you guys want any help with the install.
    Dan,

Do you know where I can purchase a HAM radio?? My brother just got his license and was looking but there seems to be no place in Reno to buy one.
Also, what would you recommend for a beginner operator? he wants something cheap for now.

    Thanks buddy
