Durango/Expedition/Tahoe - Chassis and Suspension differences?

Uh one exotic big truck i forgot: What about the older Infinity QX 80? Should the probably boxed Nissan Titan frame not be up to the standart of a sequoia or Expedition? Dont know about the axles and IFS tho...

Durango/Expedition/Tahoe - Chassis and Suspension differences?

No not a problem in terms of constructing, only in terms of measuring the frame. Ah ok, i thought the RAM was running on the same frame since it got boxed.

Durango/Expedition/Tahoe - Chassis and Suspension differences?

Alumiduty? :D Like i said someone who oned one measured it with a caliper and ended up with 240x90x4.7 (probably around 4-4.5)mm in the mid section. Maybe you can do the same thing with your truck for a direct comparision? Of course in both cases the problem remeins that the thickness might...

Durango/Expedition/Tahoe - Chassis and Suspension differences?

Are you referring about the Power Wagon? In any way this would be a very wide range of thickness? Usually it is much more difficult to measure the thickness as it is with the outer dimensions or are those numbers from a spec sheet?

Durango/Expedition/Tahoe - Chassis and Suspension differences?

Well in case of the Expedition i can even tell you the frame measurements of the boxed chassis in the middle of the truck right from the Ford spec sheet for builders: 225x75x2.5mm At least that are the measurements for the standard F-150, the thickness increases in case of a really long...

Durango/Expedition/Tahoe - Chassis and Suspension differences?

Hm of course this still leaves us with the question: is the Sequuoia comparable in frame/suspension strneght to the L200, which could be considered as one of the strongest trucks in this class. Of course the solid axle will probably be stronger than the IRS - but is it significant?

Durango/Expedition/Tahoe - Chassis and Suspension differences?

Does the Sequoia feature the same frame, rear axle and front suspension as the Land Cruiser V8/J200?

Durango/Expedition/Tahoe - Chassis and Suspension differences?

The size and weight is kinda a factor which why the obviously stronger super dutys are not incloded. Problem is a G-Wagon or HD-Land Cruiser, so the vehicles in this "size group" who are the strongest, are both really expensive over here and/ore offer absolutly no comfort. A Nissan Patrol would...

Durango/Expedition/Tahoe - Chassis and Suspension differences?

Yeah well the unnecessary complications with electronic are pretty much what i would have to live with anyway, if i want a certein level of comfort. Otherwise you would have to get a much older vehicle with all the downsides that come with it. But what about the backbone? Frame/"axles"/diff...

Durango/Expedition/Tahoe - Chassis and Suspension differences?

Oh ok so only the Expedition is close to the F-150 frame with a different rear end for the IRS? How loosely is the GM connectet to the truck? Can any one of those be compared in terms of strnght to the Discovery 3?

Durango/Expedition/Tahoe - Chassis and Suspension differences?

Hello, i know there are many people who after choosing one brand will always defend their one of the "big 3", but maybe someone got the chances to actually compare those trucks under rough conditions. All of em are body on frame based on their euivalent Pickup counterpart, but maybe there...

The Mountain Goat - An FJ140/2UZ-FE/Ute Build

Awesome built and awesome threat! Since you could compare them quite directly: Are the HJ 80 Frame and axles really so much stronger compared to it's predecessor, that it is worth the swap or is just because of the spring setup?

Frame differences between the "normal" G-wagon and the chassis cap with increased GVWR?

Hm nobody got anything on that? I know it's a bit simple to just compare the dimensions on boxed profiles, but for example the modern-day F-350 from Ford got 241x89x4.7mm, which compared to the G's 155x77x3 is just soo much bigger... Also the G-wagon is the only one of the classic contenders...

Iveco Massif compared to the Land Rover Defender?

Ah yeah i know the D60 as a front axle in the older heavy chassis cap trucks, pretty solid piece! But the wolf version looks like it's got upgrades too, like there is something weldet on it below. Maybe they let me keep this picture:

Iveco Massif compared to the Land Rover Defender?

The T-REX is of course much tougher in any way, much stronger frame/axles, much higher GVW etc. But also a completly different price range.

Iveco Massif compared to the Land Rover Defender?

So the standart 130 has the same rear axles as the 110 military or civil? How do the LR axles compare to Mercedes G/Nissan Patrol? And how does the Wolf Chassis compare? What do you mean by narros scope? 8non Native speaker) I guess special frames like yours are most likely to be found under a...

Iveco Massif compared to the Land Rover Defender?

Hm would have really loved some more Info on those special LR frames, also the (rear)axles seem to be different depending on the vehicle version:

Iveco Massif compared to the Land Rover Defender?

How to tell if you got a 233 or 260 rear axle in your patrol?

Thank you for the Info! Well the thing is, all the very rare 4.2 Diesel engines over here have been inside Y60's so far. I like the Y60 design more anyways, but of course i would also like to get the strongest frame and axles. Well i guess i can forget on the H260, do not see any patrol on the...

Iveco Massif compared to the Land Rover Defender?

Hello, well i personally would not mind leaf springs, as they are tough&simple (even put less stress on the frame ;) ). But the biggest bonus of the Iveco is always the engine. However i am always gratefull for any informations about frames, because to this day they is very little information...
