slow, budget built '89 toyota pickup expedition rig

Just when I think Im doing big things with stock 4.88's, bilstein 5100's, BJ spacers, and OME leafs, I've been inspired to upgrade it even further. I'd never even heard of Blazeland prior to this post, so thanks!

Just Picked up my first Overland project truck!!! 1996 T100, 3.4, 4x4, 240,000 miles. What to do first?

Sweet truck, I'd kill for the 3.4 in my pickup. So at least you have that on some of the older Toyota's out there. Good luck with the build.

    Wildernest Replacement and Restoration

Just went to a local pick and pull with a section of the original and matched it up to what I remember being an old ford van's door seals. Ended up working put perfectly. Good luck with the build.

    Old's Cool

I did have these wheels on the truck prior to the rebuild... and prior to the re-gear.. which in hindsight, probably lead to the engine rebuild. I never calculated the miles per gallon previously, because I didn't really care. I was just happy to have the truck. Now, I'm looking at throwing a...

    Old's Cool

Well I brought it up to 4.88 gears to match the 33's. That gave it some bottom end torque to actually get the truck going, and it does about 70-75 max. Im looking to trade off just a bit of low end for some more miles per gallon. I already have the stock aluminum wheels which I got for a steal...

    Old's Cool

Question for my fellow 3VZE guys. Engine was recently rebuilt, and i'm currently running 4.88 gearing with 33 12.5 15's on steelies. Miles per are less than desirable at around 12-13. Do you guys think that switching to 15" Aluminum wheels in conjunction with downsizing the tires to 32 11.5 r15...

1991 Toyota Hilux 4x4 RV - jdm import

Very cool hilux. Did you work with Sodo motors on importing this? I'm currently looking at the Hiace they have for sale on their site, but by the time i'm ready to pull the trigger, i'm sure it will be long gone. I'd like to know if they would help me find and import another.

Ugh. This makes me want a first gen runner so bad that I can taste it. Maybe I can convince the wife to ditch her Outback with heated leather for one. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Looking forward to watching the build dude. (y)
