2000 Suburban K1500 budget low lift with 37"s

You have to have 17" wheels with the larger brakes, yeah? I'm looking into this for our Sierra...

Hey Vortec Guys! / Sierra pickup / Suburban / Yukon etc

Any of the GMT800 mafia upgrade your alternators? Ours is in good shape still, but its something I've been thinking about as my partner wants to put an inverter and fridge in her truck and its going to be getting a GMRS radio n stuff.

Anybody else want a small USEABLE 4X4?

Yeah, its something we saw. Its a jeep, I expect dumb stuff like this to occur. Luckily greasing a drive shaft isn't hard. Be it a repezza joint or the spines on the shaft or whatever.

Anybody else want a small USEABLE 4X4?

My partner considered trying to find a jeep MJ for that reason, but we're going to be going the Gladiator route instead.

Thoughts on the Edelbrock supercharger for JK

The NSG370 is the biggest factor in the general slow "feel" of the JK's, IMO. That said, I have 4.56's in my JKU and ran it that way for a year+ with 33's and it was fantastic. I didn't have to downshift for anything, First gear wasn't ever really used because you could just let the clutch in...

Thoughts on the Edelbrock supercharger for JK

Gears, esp if you have larger tires at all on it. If I had 6k to spend on jeep stuff I'd be focusing on driveability, suspension and comfort.

'03 GMC Sierra 2wd build... Liv.

Went through a couple more rev's on the shock mount design and I got it to a point where I was comfortable with my CAD model to make a drawing and a very rough cardboard model to do fit checks with. I would have 3d printed something but my stupid printer blew up the extruder a while back and I...

Two-Wheel Drive Ford Ranger's New $595 Off-Road Pkg Is Touted as a “Hell of a Deal”

Right? Personally I'd take a 2wd with a locker over a 4wd with no low range... But hey! Should I pass you the bucket of popcorn? :p

Two-Wheel Drive Ford Ranger's New $595 Off-Road Pkg Is Touted as a “Hell of a Deal”

If there is hardcore rockcrawling then the 2wd stays home, otherwise they're more than able to do 99% of what we tell ourselves we need a 4x4 truck to do. Low range is the bigger thing IMO. But then again I'm in CA and its fairly dry out here.

Started sketching up a new upper shock/coilover mount. Gonna mock it up in cardboard soon, and start doing fit checks. Prob going to have a few rev's of this before I get around to welding it up...

We're still in the planning phase for em, I don't want to end up with a huge mess of unplanned work or not having stuff figured out so i'm trying to at least get a rough design/sketch done before I start bending metal. Where the factory tow hooks attach there are some good hard points to attach...

Yeah. A LT setup is kind of being planned on.... Not sure if we're going to do a midtravel or full long travel kit. I'm leaning towards a full LT setup, because I know she won't destroy it quite as fast. Of course if we do a LT setup... that means good coilovers, glass fenders, 14bolt rear...

Welp, got back from a 3 day trip with both trucks (my jeep and my wifes truck) overall the truck did awesome, over 200 miles off road, only hiccup was that she broke a front shock. Which isn't a huge surprise given she tends to haul through stuff. First day we went out from auburn to Sugar Pine...

    GMT800 People - Opinions wanted on upgrades/mods

We've drug ours on rocks and dirt already. The tank itself is fine, I'm more worried about stuff snagging on the tank and damaging the straps or brush reaching up and snagging hoses around the evap. Its less of an issue on most trails but we've drug ours on a lot of stuff at our property in the...

    GMT800 People - Opinions wanted on upgrades/mods

I'll be posting up some ideas for gas-tank options when I start working on them for our truck... The best idea I have currently for our pickup is to do a skid bar or two under the tank that run down the length of it and supported from both framerails. This cold help give some muffler protection...

Good tires and a traction device in the rear axle means you can get a lot of places with a 2wd! Ours has 33's on it right now and the factory G80 locker and it does a lot better than most people expect. One of the biggest things we found with our truck is that the short wheelbase lets you get a...

I suspect the lower shock location on the 4wd trucks is a bit more outboard than on the 2WD, but I'd have to measure one. The lift spindles are about half an inch taller than the stock ones and the angles are about 3deg better. From the factory the 4wd shocks are like an inch longer or so...
