Anyone have any resources for aftermarket exhaust for diesel Econoline vans? All I've been able to find hitherto is for 7.3s. Does anyone make a 4" or larger system for the 6.0 PSD? Surely I can't be the only one who's run into this problem. My googling has been quite unsuccessful, so I...
I have an Action Van Suspension 6" lift on my 06 E350 van and am working toward completing a coil sprung 4x4 conversion. I would like to offload the entire 6" lift AND a total of five 8 lug 8X165 ProComp wheels. 4 of them have brand new 33" KO2s, the spare has a 33" MT tire mounted. I would be...
Continuing the build...
Thanks, @The Punisher!
I should have explained sooner where I am at in the build. I've been recounting lots of the build in the first two posts and will continue to do so until we come up to the present day status of the build. I should be able to complete that task...
Demolition, vent fan and solar installation.
First in the demolition came out the ceiling. I needed to find out what I was working with in terms of wiring and I was certain of the fact that I wanted a much more cabin-like feel to the interior. The ambulance parts are too sterile for the "hygge"...
In June of 2016 I set out from the East coast to the Southwest for work in a roughly built, shoddy 2003 AWD GMC Savana. She was rusted, ugly and high miles. Her name was Vangela and I loved her. Very unfortunately she succumbed to her rusted frame (which was far worse than I had known) and sold...
Mike, those brackets are an absolute work of art! Are you an engineer? No way I could have come up with that on my own! My hope was that it was some sort of generic bracket that I would have been able to purchase and recreate a version of your bed. Instead I've moved on to a different design-but...
Isolator
Hey y'all. Hoping for some info on isolators or battery switches. As previously mentioned in the thread I have a 2006 6.0PSD Type 2. I bought it after having been decommissioned and somewhere along the line someone tore out much of the stock electrical equipment, but I still have posts...
Ok, so, some simple googling answered my question about the drawer brackets (for anyone interested in them for their own build you can find them here...
Mike, thank you so much for posting this. You guys have built an incredibly functional type 2 and packed in SO many features! I have a couple of questions for you.
-Where did you get the hinge that is used to switch the bottom section of your bed from sleeping platform to futon? I find this...
Dang, I was hoping to hear otherwise! I tested again later and was getting 13.5 at idle and was able to contort myself to be able to throttle the engine up and measure at the same points I was mentioning earlier and the voltage actually dropped into the low 13s. What does it all mean?
Honestly...
Quick update and a few questions. I just bought a cheap multimeter to run a few tests. In the above photo connected to the commander 350 is (what appears to be) a 100amp fuse. There are actually two of these; the second is connected by the large-guage red wire the runs up and left off the top...
Wise words. And I echo that sentiment from all the advice I've heard. Thanks y'all!
Since I'm without any of my tools at the moment (long story)I've been left just spending time in the back end imagining what I can do with the space. I was in the middle of one of these imagineering sessions...
Damn, y'all sure do know your stuff. Thank you for the answers! Good answers almost always lead to more questions.
So, it seems like my best bet will be to use existing wiring but to put in place my own machinery and disregard most of what is there. My goal for the back end with regards to...
Thanks for the wise words and the encouragement. Keyser-I enjoyed reading a bit through your build thread...that's going to be a bad mama once you're finished!
I'm hoping I can tap into everyone's expertise here re: ambulance wiring. The situation in the Ati-Van is that, sadly, I didn't buy it...
A new type II on the block!
Hello all!
Firstly, thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread-there's a wealth of knowledge here. I've spent the last month digging through here while my new ambulance has been in the shop getting a clean bill of health and a 6" Action Van lift.
I'm...
Hey OP, do you have any more shots of the interior? I just bought a type 2 and need some inspiration for how to design my build. I actually haven't been able to find very many type 2 builds; most seem to be type 3s and yours is by far my favorite of all!
Something along these lines is my plan but I'm having trouble finding an appropriate set up to hold the tank in place. Do you have a photo or two of how you've done yours?
