I just went outside and took some pictures. The undercarriage just has surface rust and some dirt. The dirt is from recently hauling firewood. Here's some pictures.
Coachgeo, I recommend you look at the S 788 shelter made for HMMWV's. It's bigger than the 250 but smaller than the 280. I just mounted one on a standard 9 foot flatbed on a F250. Perfect fit and only weighs 600lbs empty. It is much more room than the 250 that I now have on a HMMWV trailer.
Looks like a great project. I like the S-250 comm shelter on the trailer. I'm currently converting a S-250 shelter into a camper. It's currently on an 1101 trailer but may use it on a 99 F250 regular cab flatbed.
Congrats on the 1101. They tow great. I have two of them. I put chevy wheels and 30 inch tires on one and that lowered the height about 4 inches. I use it for everything from hauling atv to kayaks. Ref the End Use Certificate (EUC), if the email from Gov Liguidation didn't mention it, then...
I just put a set on my 99 F250 and have the same issue of pulling right. Alignment was good before getting the new tires. I have added some air to the right front and that helped but there is still a slight pull. It's not terrible but just enough to notice.
Looks like a great concept. Thank goodness the developers are thinking small and addressing the specialty needs of medical and power supplies. I lived through trying to get the Army to make things small enough to fit in a Chinook. BTW, Thanks for your service.
I just read somewhere on Steel Soldiers about the electric break upgrade. I'll look for it. It was a Dexter 6000lb axle brake assembly but etrailer may not list it.
Electric brakes
The A2 trailers already have 8 lug wheels that make GM and some Dodges. Why not just remove the surge brakes and bolt on a new back plate for electric brakes. E-trailer sells them. The back plates are held on with 5 bolts. Simply swap. You can get the electric back plates...
