0.100” wall square steel tubing is what you’re looking for, each size fits into the other. For example 1” slides inside 1.25”, 1.25” slides inside 1.5”.... etc

May I suggest spending a couple bucks more and going with a piece of aluminum angle, and stainless hardware. Easier to drill, no need to paint and no rust streaks down the side of your lovely trailer.
