RIP 2011 LR4 Kilt by a cell phone and a neon. In a subdiviso

So actually I heard someone recently mention how awesome the FR fairing works. It might've been someone as picky as you and I, maybe the guy in NoVA ... @Ray_G ? I am planning to try one on my Hannibal rack when I get back to WA.

    285/60R18. LR4 options

What wheel is that then, the Compomotive or the steel or other? I was confused at first on the Evo wheels which in 18" are 8.5" wide but with 35 ET. To me this is less good than the Compomotive purely from an offset spec. Losing 11mm is a lot to me in this particular area. I am going to...

    Land Rover LR4 wheel size

To be clear, I'm not sure that size even exists in many, if any, AT tires. If it did, it would also be a very difficult fitting for the many documented reasons. Best sizes are the following on 8" best, to 8.5" doable but starting to limit clearances, 9" asking for trouble with no real...

    Snow Wheeling - Let's talk pressures & Terrain Response/DSC

Yup, the Nokian WRG2 on the Audi and the LT2 on the LR3 have both proven to be quite awesome. Quattro/torsen center diff on the 4400 lb audi doesn't hurt either though.

    285/60R18. LR4 options

you'll see my comments on my experience w the sizing on other forum but another tire i like is the Nokian Rotiva: https://www.nokiantires.com/all-season-tires/nokian-rotiiva-at/ They're a leader in developing new technologies in tire engineering. The new Aramid sidewall sure sounds good anyway ;)

    Land Rover LR4 wheel size

I have never seen steel spacers for the modern land rovers. My favorite are ones that have a stud that is set in via spline or at least not simply threaded in from behind like the terrafirma. I have H&R which are very high quality but i have seen one other similar made in the US but cannot...

    L322 roof rack

Most of the racks made "for" the range rover are not all that long. The Hannibal discovery 2 rack is roughly 55"x83" and I have one each for the Disco2 and the lr3. While the lr3 slot/track has a range of mounting your RR would ideally only utilize the 6 factory mounting points. I am not sure...

    Looking for 100 series

I think you'd need to explain this as from everything I've read and a friend who's had several 80, 100 and now a 200 for 5 years, your assumption is unfounded at least regarding "fragile" and "less capable". In fact, everything I've read from similar owners suggests the 200 is not only more...

    Snow Wheeling - Let's talk pressures & Terrain Response/DSC

My tire choice is based on a wider range of use than your stated purposes and therefor my most likely recommendation is going to come from a that perspective. I tow a 7500 lb tandem trailer sometimes and also make long interstate trips where I want to make time by traveling as fast as possibly...

    Snow Wheeling - Let's talk pressures & Terrain Response/DSC

Nothing I said in that last post was condescending. Not sure why you're feeling that way but it sounds like you are predisposed to read a tone that was not implied or intended. If you were in a different state of mind, you might re-read that post about low psi and see that I basically agreed...

    Snow Wheeling - Let's talk pressures & Terrain Response/DSC

I had time for some calculations rather than gut feeling and came up with low psi of 20 for my vehicle and on my tires but 12 psi for a stock LR3 on the SL which is actually basically also a C load range. That tire is also better suited than I had thought from a load range but I do prefer the...

    Snow Wheeling - Let's talk pressures & Terrain Response/DSC

I think it also depends on the vehicle weight, tire sidewall size, and even the wheel being used. Some wheels have better bead retention. Lighter weight vehicles will not squash the tire as much. My lr3 at 7500 lbs with nothing on the roof is going to squash the tire a lot more than a stock...

    Snow Wheeling - Let's talk pressures & Terrain Response/DSC

LOL I guess the experts in the field out there are also full of nonsense then. Did you ask the "engineers" about actual 4x4 trails or just gravel roads because the tires they build are not just for looks. I was never talking to you about the forest roads where a stock subaru can also go. I...

    Snow Wheeling - Let's talk pressures & Terrain Response/DSC

Maybe you just have reading comprehension issues. Where did I say "can't go below 20psi" ? Oh, nowhere. As for your "touched gravel" BS. I never said anything remotely like that so it is clear you have trouble understanding what people tell you after you ask for their help. I think you...

Lr3 tire recommendations, Advice and insight appreciated!

LOL now you "go a lot farther and further off road than most" ? Most who? If you were such an expert, maybe you shouldn't have text me so many questions last summer. Everything works great until it doesn't so your experience for 6 months on an SL is pretty much an anecdotal irrelevancy. All...

    Snow Wheeling - Let's talk pressures & Terrain Response/DSC

What is your issue? I never said anything remotely like that. Enough with the slander. You don't know **** about this, came to me for help. I was very open and tried to share what I've learned over texts between us for 3 months last summer but you feel the need to slander me here. Good luck...

    Snow Wheeling - Let's talk pressures & Terrain Response/DSC

10 is way too low for the heavy lr3 on factory wheels and the sizes we can use. Even 15 is pushing your luck and not even getting you much benefit in snow. 20 is really around the bottom for an lr3 unless for just a tight spot. I've only experimented with these things for 20 yrs now though...

Yup, DSC off in deep snow for sure, unless you like to get stalled every time.
