Diesel for overlanding- are you happy with the choice?

Your right that is a good option you don’t see allot of. What steers me clear is the lack of aftermarket support. I have talked to one person with the Nissan Titan cummins and he was happy. I agree with you guys on the Nissan. Seems to be a good truck with a great warranty. Don’t know if it’s...

    Gears or more horses?

Love my hydra, like a new truck. I like the 60 hp performance tune and seem to get the best mpg with it when driving light footed. The 60 hp eco tune is nice too, no smoke. Watch your EGTs on the 80hp tunes when climbing.

    Tundra vs F150

6.0 has an industry built around it as well. A 30yo Toyota is not much different than a new one. I actually agree with the other poster that all modern trucks are pretty equal, they just fill different niches. I just like talking trash about Toyota because I can. This thread is all about...

    Tundra vs F150

I am a fan of quality, yes. My Bronco, Explorer, Escape, and current 20yo f350, combined, have had less issues than my first 3.0 Toyota. The Tacoma was a good truck, until it died a fiery death. I don’t know, maybe I just got lucky with my 4 fords and unlucky with the Toyotas.

    Tundra vs F150

Or just pull the old one out and replace it with the same wrong part number. The dealer that got it right did good. First tried to blame my driving but when then realized the other dealer was putting in the wrong one every time, got it covered. 3.0 is the ford 6.0 of Toyota, it wasn’t just...

    Tundra vs F150

Nope, they put a light duty car clutch in it, from the factory, and every time was replaced under warranty, nothing to do with my driving. I went to a different dealer the fourth time who figured out it had the wrong clutch. None of my fords ever had the wrong part put in at the factory. Big...

Ryobi 18 volt fan for tent?

I second the ridged fan, use mine for camping and around the house as it can be plugged in as well. Good warranty and I can use the batteries for the tools or flood light. Can’t beat their warranty but you do have to fill out the warranty stuff.

    Tundra vs F150

Yet Ford Dodge Nissan and Chevy all offer a diesel and Toyota does not. They don’t offer the Toyota diesel in NA for a reason. A diesel tundra with Toyota’s longevity would probably do really well here but they don’t because they don’t want to deal with our emissions standards. The big three...

    Tundra vs F150

Tundra doesn’t even offer a diesel. At least ford tried and now has a nice diesel motor with the 6.7, same with dodge, Chevy, Nissan, and soon Jeep. All of which do everything the tundra does but with more power and MPG. They don’t even really compare. I doubt anyone who is looking at a...

    Gears or more horses?

I run a Hydra tuner and have like 12 tunes loaded up on it with everything from heavy tow to fuel sipping. You can even get a custom tune to manage your shift points a little better, only cost like 50 bucks last I checked. I also have a gear vendor gear splitter. Just tap the button on the...

GEYSER SYSTEMS - Hot, Portable Shower Using Less Than 1 Gallon (3 Liters) Of Water

I think there is a niche for it. It’s better than wet wipes and not as involved as solar or eco temp shower. I have room for water but this would be nice for a just cleaning up after a hike of in the morning when waking up. It could extend your water supply for sure though. I like it, nice...

    Tundra vs F150

There are A few stories of million mile fords, and even Chevy, on the google. Tundra has a couple, didn’t see any dodges. modern diesels, I suspect, drag the new model domestic trucks down. Toyota was probably smart to stay away from diesel in the states. According to this thread...
