    Replacing dual batteries......charging issue?

Ducky and shade hit the nail on the head. You are not properly charging the battery. The 4Runner alternator provides about 13.6v peak meant to charge a flooded lead acid battery. This is not adequate for an AGM battery which requires 14.7v. Luckily it's also an intelligent alternator which...

    Trailer TO Truck charging..

Or replace that Zamp charge controller with a CTEK D250SA which is also a MPPT controller - it uses either solar or tow vehicle battery (or can stack them) to charge the house battery, or if on solar only will send voltage to the tow vehicle once the house battery is charged. Truly set it and...

Custom adventure trailer stolen in Billings, MT

Timely post as I'm about to take a trip up to Wyoming with my trailer. What are people doing to secure their trailer while they are aware? The best I have right now is to remove the trailer tongue and reinsert a locking hitch pin. Any other methods? It's a single axle.

Overlap? - trailer charging and solar

This may just be marketing B.S. from the D250S manual but it sounds like when the house battery is fully charged... "The solar input will also maintain the Alternator battery"

Overlap? - trailer charging and solar

Another good point Diplo. I've researched a few of those options and actually found a few of the devices in my car react VERY negatively to higher voltage. My navigation unit, for example, continually reboots itself while the charger delivers 14.7v to the battery. With all of the modern...

Overlap? - trailer charging and solar

EXACTLY what I was hoping to hear since I have the infamous minimal 13.8v Toyota charging system. It seems like as long as I protect that OEM wiring with an auto reset breaker I should be a happy camper (pun intended). Thanks Diplo!

Overlap? - trailer charging and solar

Do you think the D250S is adding any value outside of the solar charge controller? I haven't been able to tell from their datasheets WHAT exactly it's doing besides switching sources but I assumed it might increase a low voltage input (from a lengthy trailer run) into something a bit more...

Overlap? - trailer charging and solar

Be gentle guys, my first go around in this world. I just picked up a tent trailer and I'd like to add a bit of 120v for those amenities that make our lives a little better. A brief inventory of what I currently have: - I'll be towing with my 2014 4Runner which currently has a Diehard 31m and...

Solar charge controller which powers load from solar before batteries

Here we go, it was actually the Flexopower review on the forum - http://expeditionportal.com/field-tested-flexopower-atacama-79-watt-panel/ "Instead of following the traditional system in which the panel is run to the battery before the fridge pulls from it, they ran the panel and the fridge to...

Solar charge controller which powers load from solar before batteries

It was definitely a dedicate controller and based on my browsing history probably an Australia video where he was walking through his "campa" setup. Oh well, if I stumble across it again I'll be sure to post here.

Solar charge controller which powers load from solar before batteries

I swear I read it on this forum last night but must have forgotten to book mark it. Someone was talking about a MPPT charge controller which sent power from the panels to the load BEFORE going to the batteries and how much more efficient this would be. Was I just dreaming or is anyone aware of...
