I wouldn't use a single bolt hole regardless.... install a roof rack and then use it... spread out the tension. Prinsu is a decent aftermarket option. I had to drill into the roof (1st gen)... but it was pretty easy... even with some modifications for the sunroof (had to cut/trim the legs a bit).

Drop the psi in the tires a bit.... they're too bouncy and losing contact with the road / traction.

In the city I drop my psi on the duratracs to 25... makes a huge difference. If I were to hit the hwy for any period of time I would crank it back up to hwy pressures.

We are running 285/75/16 studded Nokian LT3's on our Tacoma.... essentially 33's. I'll be swapping them over to the FJ for an upcoming trip (same bolt pattern and size I currently run) for the added highway safety. My duratracs are great, but there's no comparison to a studded snow tire...

Did you use it in the winter? How did it do? Assuming you have a heater in it? Is it a propane heater or diesel? Are the walls insulated enough that when you heated the camper the walls didn't sweat? Thx.

The lack of rear hitch and/or recovery points makes me hesitate as well.... would slapping on a recovery point, on something not designed for one, end up twisting the whole thing in a recovery situation?

Yeah, that's my biggest concern.... my trails are very tight.... I use limb-risers and the whole nine yards..... I have yet to get an awning but it's only a matter of time.

I have a CB antenna on the driver side of my rear door hinge.... so I THINK I'll need to put it on the passenger side when I buy it.... the door also opens on the passenger side.
