Why so many negative YouTube videos about RTTs?

RTTs have all the drawbacks of a normal tent, but at least they're obscenely expensive.

    4Daughter 4Runner

Heh, had the same thought. My first vehicle was a Chevy Blazer and the rear seat folded nice and flat. ? Great project, OP!

Help a confused guy put a power bank together (on a shoestring budget)?

So, I was given a solar panel for Christmas. It's your basic 120V panel, mounted in an aluminum frame, and It came with a controller for charging a battery. That's awesome, but I'm still really baffled as to what size battery to buy. I'm thinking of something like this battery on Amazon but then...

Help a confused guy put a power bank together (on a shoestring budget)?

Hmm... gets pretty pricey pretty fast. Maybe a simple solution, but not a cost-effective one.

Help a confused guy put a power bank together (on a shoestring budget)?

Is there a good reason not to go with something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Jackery-Portable-Generator-Explorer-Emergency/dp/B07FYJVFNK/ref=pd_rhf_ee_p_img_8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=SGF0C2XBN7JV94R8KA38 and a solar panel? Seems even easier than plug and play and seems like it would...

Help a confused guy put a power bank together (on a shoestring budget)?

DC lights/chargers were something I hadn't considered, so that's definitely worth looking into. I would probably still like to have an inverter around "just in case" should there be something I'd want to power that's AC. Why not have the option handy. I hadn't realized golf cart batteries were...

Help a confused guy put a power bank together (on a shoestring budget)?

I've been thinking about cobbling together some sort of a power bank, possibly solar powered or possibly not, to take camping and to take to music festival (assuming those ever happen again). All I really want to do with it is run some lights at night, charge cell phones and laptops, and maybe...

Who's making MOLLE panels for Tacomas?

Found this on Tacomaworld where a guy mounted up a grey man panel: Doesn't look like he's logged in in months, but I really wonder what hardware/spacers he mounted it up with. (I.E. Is it just screwed into the plastic or did he pop that panel off and use locking nuts?)

Who's making MOLLE panels for Tacomas?

I've got a second-gen, access cab, Tacoma and am looking to maximize gear storage. I'd like to mount a couple of MOLLE panels in the backseat. Anyone know of a good source for a molle panel that I could maybe mount on the plastic area between the backseats back rests? The flat area is about...

WTB: Tacoma bed rack that goes over a Softopper

I know this is a long shot, but I'm looking for a rack that will go over a Softopper. I've debated just having one built, or ordering one from SOS, but since I'm not 100% sure I'm keeping the ST, I feel like looking for a used one is smart. I've got a 2nd gen Taco with a 6' bed, but am open to...

FS: x5 Toyota Tacoma 16" Dark Anthracite Alloy Wheels

Dang, those would look sharp on my Taco. Unfortunately on the wrong side of the country, but have a bump!

    Cheaper alternative to ARB awning?

I'm looking for an awning to attach to the side of a topper on the back of a truck. I was looking at both the ARB and the Tepui awnings, but honestly, I just don't think they're worth what they cost and you're really paying for the name. Is there a cheaper (but still decent quality) awning I'm...

Who's got OME 885's and medium Darkars on their Taco?

Cool, thanks guys. I'm shooting for 2 to 2.5" just to avoid the cost of new UCA's, and it sounds like that's pretty doable, if your experiences are typical. And that's about the stance I want... hope it works out with the extended cab and a Softopper! ?

Who's got OME 885's and medium Darkars on their Taco?

I'm in the process of selling off my first gen Tacoma. I'm going to use some of the funds to build up my new(er) second gen. On the first gen, I installed OME 880 springs with light duty Darkars. In theory, I should have gotten about 1.75" of lift from this but wound up with more like 2.5"-3"...

    OME and ARB vendors

Headstrong is probably going to be your best bet. Their prices are comparable to a lot of others, but since their shipping is free, they're the cheapest overall (at least from what I've seen).

Custom over the canopy bed rack for a 2nd gen. Tacoma

Zombie post! But... anyone have pictures of this rack since the ones here are gone? I'm thinking of building a rack over my Softopper and would like to see what other folks have come up with.

If you had to pick one: Skid plates or rock sliders?

You may be right and I may not need either sliders of skids, but I've definitely scraped my first gen Taco on trails. The factory skids took the abuse well enough, but... the 2nd gen has about 1.5" less clearance than the first gen, so I figured it would be a good idea to add some armor to this...

If you had to pick one: Skid plates or rock sliders?

I hear ya, but I like I said, that's about the toughest thing I'd consider... and that's not to say I'm for sure!

If you had to pick one: Skid plates or rock sliders?

For sure! The toughest thing I can see myself on (at least purposely on) is something like Black Bear Pass. That said, been on enough roads that got way rougher than I expected, which is where a little armor would be appreciated. I'm a little surprised to see so many folks worrying about the...

If you had to pick one: Skid plates or rock sliders?

I'm in the process of planning a build on a 2011 Tacoma TRD Off Road. I'm planning on installing an OME 2" lift (885 coils and Dakars), but am only planning on running 265/75/r16 tires. I'd like to have a little more ground clearance, but in the interest of gearing and fuel mileage, probably...
