Thanks guys. Just looking at swapping the entire front diff so I can limit downtime. Don't mind getting manual hubs either and I'm pretty sure I could rig up a position switch to keep the lights from flashing.

Okay, so I searched and read Eurosonic's thread (among others) but couldn't get a solid answer. If I swap the entire diff from a Montero Sport (4.9 gears) into my gen 2.5 by transferring the mounts over, will I lose the ability to shift from 2wd to 4h on the fly? I know the lights will blink...

But dat torque tho...

Ah gotcha. And yea, the Eclipse motors are cheap compared to a Montero motor.

Awesome! The price on those Eclipse engines vs a higher mileage Montero engine makes them really appealing. Is there any reason you didn't you a gen 2.5 Montero ECU? I believe they're flashable as well no?

Cool. I"m trying to decide between this and a 6g72tt swap. I like the simplicity of N/A but if I'm going to take the 3.5 out something more powerful is definitely going back in.

I'm confused. So you swapped actuator housings on the left head, but the actuator on the right head was never an issue? Is that correct or am I missing something?

Anybody have an OEM radiator (Gen 2/2.5) they could sell me or know of one if a junkyard close to them they could pull and ship? I'd happily pay for your time, I'm batting zero finding one near me....:(

I generally am able to find 3.8's with lower mileage for the same price as comparable 3.5's. I'm talking about the 3.8 Montero motor (non-MIVEC btw). Sensor swap, I THINK something has to be done with the cam trigger plate and some drilling for a couple of the mount holes and it's good to go...

What size safari nets are you using for the rear partition and the overhead? I like that setup better than my current one.
