How would you prep a vehicle for international travel?

As for the compressor, I have had great results with Viair and ARB. I currently have the Viair 450P. Sold my old Jeep with the ARB installed. The Viair portable can be used for both rigs and airs up quickly. 35's on the truck and 33's on the Jeep.

Suspension Help for RAM 3500 - Remote reservoir or simple HD shocks

Having a heavy duty diesel truck with a camper will test your shocks. Throw on a bumper, winch, water, and gear while trying to do even mild off roading changes everything.

Best place to advertise a FWC for sale

I have used RVT.com and rvtrader.com. in the past. RVT has a one time fee until it sells. RVtrader is monthly. It is a perfect time to sell and they both have national exposure. Not everyone knows about Expedition Portal. Just the cool people.

Suspension Help for RAM 3500 - Remote reservoir or simple HD shocks

I went with the Icon reservoir shocks on front and non-reservoir on the rear. Previously had 5100's. There is a night and day difference and have been very pleased so far on my F250 diesel.

    Tire pressure for trailer tires

My 25psi has been a trial and error for the tires I am running. It gives the trailer a little suspension and sidewall compliance. With only leaf springs and no shocks, it is the only option. The contact patch is also acceptable while off road. Too much air and you lose the adequate contact...

    Tire pressure for trailer tires

Forgot to tell you that I am running new JKU takeoffs.

    Tire pressure for trailer tires

Our trailers weigh about the same. 25psi has been a happy medium for me.

    Bed rack for pickup

I saw the Nuthouse at Overland Expo. Phenomenal quality and looks with the ability to go full custom. The Frontrunner is also really nice. I guess it would be according to if it is a dedicated overland vehicle.

    Bed rack for pickup

I am very impressed with the quality and how sturdy it is even at full height. It enables you to attach the RTT and drop it almost below cab height for better fuel mileage. We also used it for kayaks and hauling lumber when the tent wasn't on. Just raised the height above the cab.

    Bed rack for pickup

We used a Thule XSporter for our RTT before getting the Four Wheel Camper. It was more useful than a regular bed rack. The height and distance apart is adjustable and other accessories can be attached.

    Decisions Decisions.

Your last two posts pretty much sum up the evolution of Ford's Super Duty Diesel. Since I only have to deal with winter salt on the roads a few times per year, I stopped with the 2008 single turbo 6.4l. The body and drivetrain are still in excellent condition. Yeah, I've thrown a few thousand...

    Decisions Decisions.

It is amazing how much the half tons are changing in size and payload. Throwing a diesel in the mix might make it a harder decision for people who are on the fence. If you didn't tow much or carry a "heavy" slide in camper, that might be the ticket.

    Decisions Decisions.

I have owned many half ton trucks in the past. I now have a F250 diesel and will probably won't own a half ton again. It is a larger truck but there are so many benefits especially if you are going to have a camper. Payload capacity, larger brakes, heavy duty steering components, etc. Even with...

How Do You Carry Your Bicycles? Pics Please

We have continued to upgrade our bike carriers over the past few years on our truck with four wheel camper. Our bikes go with us everywhere. We started out with a Thule hitch rack. During a trip down an old dirt/sand road in Moab, we thought they were going to fly off the rack. Our friend ahead...

Looking for suggestions on a leveling kit for my '16 F-350

I had the Icon 2.5" kit installed a few weeks ago. It rides great with the new progressive front springs and new shocks front and rear. Went with the Icon rear blocks. Excellent quality.

    Input -Van,Full Size or other

Yes. It is used as a daily driver and for work. The camper is pretty light without gear. We started with a roof top tent mounted to a Thule x-sporter bed rack. If you decided to put a topper on, the RTT would give you more flexibility. We are mounting it on top of the trailer for a couple of...

    Input -Van,Full Size or other

My wife and I currently have a F250 4x4 with a FWC Hawk. Our hobbies are much the same with a heavy emphasis on mountain biking. The bikes go on every trip. Upsides to getting a truck: Can use the bed for hauling, but our camper has not been removed once. The truck suspension can be a little...

    New Member intro: Drewactual :)

Great looking rig! I'm always glad to see another 6.4 built right and running well. I have a 2008 with all the necessary engine mods, tuner, intake, and exhaust. At 165k, it is still going strong and don't foresee changing anytime soon. I'm planning to do the front end and suspension in the next...

    Running a Stock Rig ???

Your Z71 is plenty capable. After doing this for a few years now, we are still in a stock 2008 F250 4x4, FWC Hawk, slightly larger BFG KO2's, and no lift. Based out of NC, our truck has taken us all over the the US and a few parts of Canada with no issues. We just recently upgraded the bumpers...
