Starting over again for the last time 2016 jku rubicon hard rock

That's a lot of RPMs for the speed. Manual? I think mine is doing around 75+ at 2500 with the auto. I'm also not getting anything remotely close to 20mpg either... When it was stock, 22mpg on a few trips. That's a distant dream now.

Rhino Rack Heavy Duty Bars + Quick Release Legs + RTT?

Good to know. Thanks. I got three bars when I got them, but have only use two a lot of the time when I use the bars, as it's just a surfboard or some lumber for the house. I have enough tent brackets to mount the tent to all three if needed. I like the platform, but it's a bunch of extra weight.

Rhino Rack Heavy Duty Bars + Quick Release Legs + RTT?

I have a couple of rack options for the Jeep. I have the Rhino Rack Backbone system installed. I have a Pioneer Platform, but also three of the heavy duty bars. I have both the old metal screw down legs, and a set of the quick release ones. I had the RTT bolted to the Pioneer Platform...

Jeep gives Wrangler 1.5" lift, 35" tires and 4.88 gears..

I don't think 35s are going to be breaking anything. It's pretty much the defacto tire to put on a Wrangler, and shops aren't swapping out axles and steering boxes. 4.88s will just make it a nicer driving experience. I hope they do something with the brakes as well.

    New guy . . .Help needed . . .

What is with the author of APRSDroid not supporting imperial units? I would assume that having written the rest of the app, it's not beyond him, but more just plain doesn't want to.

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Got my dual band radio permanently installed. Finally. A decent antenna mount was the tricky part as I'm not into drilling holes in the Jeep. I think it's working pretty well, though would work a lot better if I had a better ground plane.

    Uconnect and topo

There are a ton of true Android head units you can install which will run the popular maps. I continue to use a standalone GPS for things like this though.

What's the modern equivalent of the Eee netbook?

Which really sucks, as Chromebooks aren't even in the same league. When I first hit the road for a while about 10 years ago, I sold my hefty desktop, and just took my Eee. There were times when I had that thing connected to external keyboards, monitors, scanners, printers, doing all kinds of...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Added an Outback Adventures Trailgater table this weekend. Really nice product. It should be for the money.... Anyway, no regrets. Had a nice place to make coffee at the beach Sunday morning. Another little part of my kitchen coming together. I've really got to get on making the fridge slide.

    which of the three racks?

I have the Rhino. Without a platform on it, you wouldn't know it's there. With the platform, it make some noise, but not nearly like a Gobi or KMS. To me, the platform is a huge overkill for a RTT though, if that's the plan. Just do a couple of bars. Cheaper, and you won't have an extra...

    Smittybilt RTT 20% today

Mine came out of the warehouse in Compton, CA, and was here in a couple of days. It's shipped via freight truck, so they only deliver on weekdays, and someone had to be there to accept it.

Experience mounting RTT (23Zero Byron) to Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform

After attaching the channels under mine last night, I realized that this is really how I want to mount. That's one benefit to the platform. Are you using just 4 bolts into the channel nuts, or did you add some additional? I was kind of thinking that using a top plate under the mattress, and...

    Smittybilt Overland XL RTT-New product.

I had the mattress out last night so I could get the rails bolted to it, and didn't see any, but it was sort of dark. I'll definitely check. Thanks!

    Smittybilt Overland XL RTT-New product.

Mine showed up today, so I have it airing out in the carport.

    Smittybilt Overland XL RTT-New product.

Same here. I was getting ready to buy a a different brand this weekend, but this was too good to pass up. $650 shipped. I had been on the fence with a more expensive model, since I'm not 100% sure how much it will get used, or if a RTT is going to work better for our use than a ground tent...

    Black Friday / Holiday Deals

Probably the best deals I've seen on a Zeon. I wish they had the CTIs.

    Black Friday deals on awnings?

Or just buy the equivalent Dometic labeled one, since they make the ARB fridges. I can't tell the difference between them, but for some reason, the ARB label costs a few hundred dollars.

    Black Friday deals on awnings?

REI still has 20% off one item for members through the 20th. There are a few awnings on their site.

    Mounting: Platform vs Bars

I had thought of making my own bars. Some stainless square tube and welding on some pads to hit the Rhino Rack mounts. It seems like you still have to get to the bolts on the underside though looking at this picture...

    Mounting: Platform vs Bars

I'm still in the research phase, and looking at a couple of tents. I don't know how much of a difference there is regarding hard shell vs flip tents with mounting, but I wanted to get an experienced opinion on mounting. I have a Rhino Rack, and a Pioneer Platform currently. I had thought...
