Well, they have been trashed and left behind in Salt Lake City..... however, beyond that the hard plastic mud guards look really out of place with out the running boards. I'm surprised no-one's installed some type of rubber flaps though considering most folks on this forum delete the running...

'98 w/ Winter Package in Utah Bummer... Just drove to Alaska from Utah after purchasing a 2000 for 2.5K and then dumping that same amount into new shocks, tires and deferred maintenance... This '98 looks good to go with all the maintenance done and good tires. Red as well! Somebody go buy it...

Just the usual "new to me" maintenance. I've no idea when the timing belt was last done, so that and the water pump, updated crank bolt and washer. Plus just have all the fluids changed and the accessories belts, spark plugs and such... I'm not from SLC, just here visiting family for holidays...

Back in the Game! So after a long and fruitless search for a replacement, I've finally found another 2.5 Monty!!! 2000 Montero Endeavor model, (bummer no rear lock) but in pretty decent shape and I'm digging the bronze color :ylsmoke: Anyhow, going to get some tires and suspension work done...

So I'm looking locally at a super clean '95 LS, only 2 owners. But with 320,000 miles! It's gonna need some maintenance.... Any issues with an engine swap from my 3.5 v6 into this rig? Should I consider swapping in the transmission and rear axel too? Would all the electronics play nice?

Really? I thought the 3.5 V6 had a reputation as being able to go 300k easy as long as the timing belt and water pump were replaced at regular intervals.... I did find a '93 Montero locally here in Anchorage that is in need of a new engine, I have been contemplating an engine swap into it...

I could be wrong but I believe the only shocks that can utilize the SOFT-MED-HARD electric adjustement... are the OEM shocks. There was a thread I remember reading a ways back that said the OEM shocks were available from parts.com Anyone know of another way to get new OEM shocks?

What about the KYB Gas-A-Just shocks? Anyone have these installed on their Montero? I'm looking to replace my OEM shocks that have 160,000 miles....
