Convertible Bed/Seat, What Are They Called?

I finally found one (free!) from an Econoline conversion van. I'll work on the installation once I get it cleaned. The floor mounts look very week compared to the large structural mounts my current seat has. It appears to bolt to the floor using a couple small bolts. Is this normal?

Convertible Bed/Seat, What Are They Called?

Kinda. Ideally I'd like to get something that opens to a larger sleeping area.

Convertible Bed/Seat, What Are They Called?

I'd like to convert my 2nd row seat to the conversion van seat/bed I used to see back in the day, but I have no idea what those seats are called or where to get one. I don't need anything powered, just something easier to use than my folded and stowed seat/bedframe combo and results in a full...

Chevrolet Express / GMC Savana RWD Van Info thread (All years / 1500, 2500, 3500)

Lucky you! I haven't been on here in a while and never got an email notice. You'll have to unbolt the backrest of the Savana seat and replace it with the backrest from the Astro. The folding hinges bolt directly in place to the bottom of the Savana. I think it's like 6 bolts to swap to...

Chevrolet Express / GMC Savana RWD Van Info thread (All years / 1500, 2500, 3500)

I'm in the market for new coil springs because my aftermarket springs have sagged too much and unevenly. I saw the note about the 81012 and 81008 being the same spring rate but the 008 is longer. I need length to go with my setup and I have what's supposed to be a 5.5" lift anyway. You say...

Trying to find 10' Telescoping Poles for 10x10 Awning

Same here. Death Valley is my chosen backyard. We get rain in Orange County but I can work around occasional moisture.

Trying to find 10' Telescoping Poles for 10x10 Awning

I've seen telescoping fishing rods for cheap in 10' lengths. Do they lock in an extended position? Do they have any column strength?

Trying to find 10' Telescoping Poles for 10x10 Awning

I was thinking I'd have a second tarp pinned to the ground instead of guy wires. I can usually use the extra shade anyway and I'd pin it to the outer rod of the awning.

Trying to find 10' Telescoping Poles for 10x10 Awning

How has the EMT conduit held up over the last 4 years? I looked it up on McMaster-Carr and found stainless EMT but it's not cheap. Plain steel on the other hand is cheap.

Trying to find 10' Telescoping Poles for 10x10 Awning

Hmm, ok! I never thought to look for something like that. Thanks for the pointer, these might do!

Trying to find 10' Telescoping Poles for 10x10 Awning

I'm making a 10'x10' awning for my van and would like to have a pair of 10' telescoping side poles to extend away from the van. The trouble is nobody seems to make telescoping poles longer than 9'. I'm scouring Amazon and have already been through McMaster-Carr. I can extend some shorter...

    2019 Baja XL... who's in?

That makes a lot more sense. Thanks for clarifying that for me!

    2019 Baja XL... who's in?

That's not bad at all. Pretty standard for a vacation that long. I just heard from a coworker that there can be issues with Mexican gasoline. (dirty, low octane, etc) It seems surprising, but is there any truth to that? It's not like I can carry enough spare gas to make the whole trip...

    2019 Baja XL... who's in?

What did the whole thing cost you excluding the work done to your truck? Did you have any issues with the police?

    2019 Baja XL... who's in?

This is an event I've been considering for a little over a now. I like the idea and I'm local to the start/end. I've never done anything like this, can any of you tell me what's involved? Aside from a vehicle, what did you do to prepare?

Shipping A Motorcycle From Australia to the US

I'm not really sure where to put this, but I hope someone in here might know something about shipping motorcycles internationally. I bought a 1991 Honda CBR250RR from a friend in Australia and I'm trying to figure out how to get it here to the US. This is going to be a track bike so I've...

    Roof Light Wiring

I have some KC Daylighters on the roof of my van and I'm trying to figure out how to route the wires to the battery and cabin switches. I do not want to drill in the roof, but I really don't know a decent way to get the wires through in a neat manner. What would you guys suggest?

Need A Mount For Roof Lights On A GM Van

I've since redone this light bar with a round tube and the KC Highlight clamp mounts. The ends of the tube are mounted on clamps that I can loosen with a quick release lever which allows me to fold the lights down for extended highway trips. The rectangle bar whistled and the whole thing...
