JACI, what about a wheel winch? Basically a capstan bolted onto your wheel?

    2000 110 in the states - unobtanium?

Did you try searching here? :coffee: In short, there is no legal way to import one that's less than 25 years old.

I assume you've seen Suzuki Samurai Custom Camper Build, right?

What do you monitor with your Scangauge2?

Makes perfect sense now. For me I guess, having not towed with this particular vehicle, engine / tranny temps and GPH are the starting points. At least until I determine that the 'tow' button is properly adjusting the shift points. Thanks again!

What do you monitor with your Scangauge2?

Thanks for furthering my education. I knew what load was, just couldn't really see a use for it. Shifting on load may be something for me to investigate, since on the Traverse I can't exactly 'hear' the engine loading. If you have time for another question: what are your shift points, and...

What do you monitor with your Scangauge2?

I've seen smartphone apps that turn your phone into a code reader, but haven't seen one interface with the Scangauge. However, that's something I could easily overlook since it's not something I want.

What do you monitor with your Scangauge2?

I bought it to monitor tanny temp on our Traverse, but haven't verified that it will yet. So far I've been playing with it on my 03 Ram 1500. One thing I've found on the truck, it shows a couple of codes but when I try to clear the codes it thinks for a minute and reports 'no response.' Maybe a...

What do you monitor with your Scangauge2?

Transmission gears? Hadn't seen that option. Like showing what gear the auto tranny is currently using? That might be helpful as a diagnostic for the 'tow' button that is supposed to change shift points... Thanks,

    Why throttle position? Thanks,

What do you monitor with your Scangauge2?

What does load give you that tranny temp / water temp doesn't? Why intake temp? I can see as diagnostic, but not consistently. Thanks,

What do you monitor with your Scangauge2?

And monitoring coolant temp and voltage with this would probably be better than what's in the dash...

What do you monitor with your Scangauge2?

Been a while since I've spent any time here. And for now my Overland dreams have been scaled all the way down to a 2013 Chevy Traverse (at least it's AWD ;) ) pulling an old Coleman popup... Anyway, far from the 'build thread' I have always dreamed of, but you guys are definitely the most...

WANTED: OEM bumpers for '03 Ram 1500, Austin TX area

About three months ago I bought a pristine '03 Dodge Ram 1500, and have since been hit twice. First rear-ended while sitting at a stop light two weeks after I bought it, now someone backed into the front while it was parked in the street. Much as I would love to trick it out, I just ain't got...

Any good uses for gray water?

Btw, for some of the above, you should make sure you use biodegradable soaps and stuff.

    custom propane tank

Just a thought, but if you are only running one or two appliances, like say a two-burner cooktop and occasionally a heater, you could use that area as custom storage for several 'disposable' cylinders, or if you want something a little more refill-friendly, some BernzOmatic cylinders. Matter of...

    custom propane tank

Pressurized gas is always in cylinders since that is the best shape to hold the pressure. And here in the US propane fill stations are required to check the DOT inspection date on a tank before filling. You might be able to get a slacky tech to fill your custom tank without checking the date...

    Redneck shower

I haven't seem any real-world tests, but metal has better thermal conductivity than plastic. I'd go with metal. . Besides, with the metal ones you can put it on the stove and heat the water directly, taking care not to scald yourself, of course...
