    Mid-size vs Full-size truck setup

Sounds like another lazy parent solution. Pawn em off on the family. Congrats on thinking a full half section is an impressive amount of land. Lol

    Mid-size vs Full-size truck setup

I can’t imagine being so selfish that you leave your kids at home for one of the few joys in life that’s actually good for them!

2023 F350 Tremor Build "Gandalf the Grey"

I ended up using one of these plates, and mounted my Packouts to it at the front of my camper. The picture is before the plate was installed, but it’s in the exact same position just 1/2” higher now. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1646667808/milwaukee-dual-light-duty-low-profile Mines on a...

    Lone Peak Overland

Just another plug for ULAG. Ordered his latch covers last week, and they came in Monday. A great addition to my LPC. I made use of his awning tie down points over the weekend, and they sure are easy to use compared to finding random points to tie off on.

    I'm BACK!!! 2023 F-250 Tremor build

Looks about how our weekend is going to go. I’m heading out to our annual guys weekend this afternoon. We’ve got a built range from 300 to a little over a mile overlooking the Brazos River, 100-700 yds from the front porch, and 12K acres to roam around on and do some good old fashioned swine...

    pricing help

Trade in offers are currently ridiculously low compared to selling prices. Lots are overflowing. Dealers aren’t giving much, but you can still get decentish money in an outright sell.

    Mid-size vs Full-size truck setup

If you watch all those IG families for any amount of time you notice almost all of them eventually end up in a full-size rig. If they haven’t yet they will be shortly.

What’s the motorcycle have wheels and a motor for if you’re just going to haul it around? 🤣

    Mid-size vs Full-size truck setup

Also get over the fancy package BS. You don’t need the high grade electronics and fancy butt massagers. Spend $55K on an XLT or SR5 Tundra, and spend $15K on a daily driver that gets good mileage and doesn’t wear out your high dollar rig so quickly. I’ve got a similar setup F250 with in bed...

    Mid-size vs Full-size truck setup

There’s no way I’d consider anything other than a full size with a family camping out of the bed. If y’all are minimalist and not carrying any extra recreational gear you can get away with a half ton. However you’re still very likely to be over payload without it.

    Lone Peak Overland

Yes sir that was the main proponent in me going to the Lone Peak after spending so much time in tents and RTTs over the years. Momma feels safer with the boys in the wedge camper, and the the safer momma feels the more they get to go out with me. I’ve got 4 nights in it alone, and the rest are...

    Lone Peak Overland

I’ve used it about 12 nights so far. Me and my boy have spent a handful of nights camping at some family property along a river in central TX, a few nights in northern NM in January, a couple nights in CO, and one in Broken Bow. I’ve got 2 nights planned on a buddies 12K acre ranch in 2 weeks, 3...

PLEASE !!!! pick my new truck for our build

That spare tire tank option would be handy. I can easily mount a spare elsewhere. However that’s not an option on the 250/350 SRW trucks. The 450 sure would be nice with that wide track front end, although I wouldn’t want the cab and chassis truck. I don’t want the detuned 6.7 diesel much less...

    Lone Peak Overland

I can’t imagine that would be an issue if you’re building it to your bed and staying within the confines of his current topper.. At least with my F250 it wouldn’t be.

    Lone Peak Overland

I drove from Texas to Wenatchee in the dead of Winter, and ran into more than a few storms on my trip. The trip home was brutal. Straight through from Wenatchee to Lubbock TX after picking it up, and ran into snow in Eastern WA, ID, MT, WY, UT, and NM. CO was the only state I didn’t get snow in...

PLEASE !!!! pick my new truck for our build

A garage you still have to get out and dig through the back to find anything you need. Regular cabs still either have non reclining seats or the recline is very minimal. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve kicked back in the front seat in some shade and taken a quick 30 min to hour long...

PLEASE !!!! pick my new truck for our build

My biggest issue with the overall shorter trucks is the smaller fuel tanks. You can buy aftermarket fuel tanks for the popular cab sizes, but not all of the less popular configurations have aftermarket tanks available. Personally I’d be looking at a F350 Supercab long bed if I was just traveling...

    Lone Peak Overland

I purchased a couple items from Upper Left Adventures (ULAG on here) for my LPC. Man I’m excited about these. After using my diesel heater a few times I wasn’t a fan of trying to connect the heater hose to the heater port. Tyler (ULAG) has solved that issue, and has done so economically. While...
