    New Mog Life

Looks like an expensive thing to fix, Jostt! I hope you can get it sorted without too much pain! ?

    New Mog Life

Thanks Jostt! It is indeed an overwhelming project, but I hope that tackling one thing at a time will work out. I keep an eye on many things, including your build, and one day I might have a question. It'll be interesting to hear what you think of the new Koni shocks. I think that shocks and...

    New Mog Life

Hi Jostt, I just wanted to pop in and say that I've been reading this thread for a long time and I really appreciate you sharing all of this knowledge. I also wanted to thank you for your comments on The Mogtoise page. Thanks!

Yes, very much so! Great people too! ?(y)

    Show me your cranes, please!

Very handy! Very tidy! I like that. Hadn't thought of a chain-thingy. I'd prefer a wire, but I won't dismiss the chain. Could be useful. Thanks!

    Show me your cranes, please!

Yeah, exactly. You never know what you'll need to lift. Maybe you need to help the stranded Vespisitis by lifting the Scooter up on the roof! Check out my friends Stergios and Alexandra at https://www.worldvespa.net

    This could work... ???

    Show me your cranes, please!

With the 7500 gross train weight limit, I think it's a tad outside my scope! ?

    Show me your cranes, please!

Thanks for the link! I love the big-boys-meccano stye of all the "you may also like" parts below. Sparks my creativity. It would be super handy to have a standard, you never know where you'd want to fit the crane or what you'd want to fit into the receiver tube. Kind of like the various RAM...

Haha, I can imagine that! German efficiency! :ROFLMAO:(y)(y)

    Show me your cranes, please!

That's really useful to know. Thanks! I wish he had HF over here. That it doesn't fold up is a shame, but again, simple and cheap usually doesn't come with extra features. Looks like I'll be fabricobbling something together. :) I guess I need some heavy duty round tubes that'll hold the weight...

    Show me your cranes, please!

Yeah, I've thought a bit about those, and whilst having the horizontal arm articulating, I think the height/distance from the ground requires a wire. An articulating arm might be good in some cases, however, I doubt it would be possible to use an arm all the way from the roof to the ground...

    Show me your cranes, please!

Thanks! All thoughts and ideas are welcome! Using standard part and bits and then modifying them is a great way to approach the problem. However, here in UK/Europe I have never come across the square receiver hitch system that I regularly see on US vehicles. This kind of rules this out. However...

    Show me your cranes, please!

Hey'all! We've just agreed to buy a 'Mog and as I now have to sit here and wait for it to arrive, my mind wanders. We'll probably end up having our spare tyre on top of the truck roof and as such we'll need a crane with a winch on the vehicle so we can get the tyre up and down. However, before...

cold weather charge Lithium iron phosphate battery

You can get heater pads for terrariums (reptile tanks) and such. Get one of those and stick it under the battery, keep the battery in an insulated box. If it drops below 0ºC use the pad to heat it up so the battery can take charge, then at below -20ºC you need to stop draining power from it...

Water & Heating System - help with our design/diagram?

Don't really know why I need to justify myself, but I'll "bite". :ROFLMAO: So far I've spent most of my time researching and putting together the electrical system. I've read more manuals than I care to remember, and yes, they're filled with information, sometimes very convoluted, but somewhere...

Thanks Neil! Excellent information! And thanks for your build blog! Loved reading it.(y)(y)

Water & Heating System - help with our design/diagram?

Ah, I see, so in other words, buy the filters, but fabricobble something else to get the water to flow through? At this stage, I don't mind spending a bit on making sure the water delivery is robust and safe. I'd rather spend £500 less on extravagant stuff, but be comfortable with the water...

Water & Heating System - help with our design/diagram?

Hey, I am not surprised about the weight. I think Ulrich put the fear of weight in me, so I'm quite aware of it. I'm also keen on light travel in general and when we travel by motorbike I spend (probably too much) time in hunting surplus grammes here and there (don't ask who's chopped off the...

Water & Heating System - help with our design/diagram?

I'm aware of this, but I don't have all the knowledge to confirm or discard that it's doable - that's why I'm here asking these "silly questions" innit. ;) Even if 90ºC water was piped through the heating pipes in the floor, the floor would only reach 90ºC if the hot water would be allowed to...
