    Does a 12 x 15 tent Need a Camping AC?

Use trees for shade. If you need A/C, it is time to find a different spot where there is more shade and/or find a campsite at a higher elevation.

    Kodiak woodstove extension...

Interesting rig. I have the 14' X 10' 8 man VX style Kodiak tent. Even if your tent was bigger, I don't think a pipe going out the top of it would last very long in the wind since the roof flexes and cab move a couple feet inward and then back out.

    Gears or more horses?

I was referring to a two step testing approach. Dyno and then road testing. It was inferred both scenarios analyze logging. Perhaps in your case you wouldn't have had to "tweak" (bug fix) the update if initial testing was done on a dyno first.

    DIY Shower Water Basin Write-up

If you use eco friendly soap, it makes a slight offset to the carbon footprint left getting into and out of the forest. But it won't offset the impact to the salmon runs from all the brake dust. Might as well use whatever soap you want.

    Roof Top Tents and wind

On windy nights I climb into my rig and sleep there. When there is a high wind warning, I point my vehicle into the wind before going to bed. I sleep much better this way. The aerodynamics break the wind so it isn't so noisy and less heat gets sucked out compared to a tent. Otherwise, I sleep...

    Gears or more horses?

Typically, tunes on a gas engine would lean out the air/fuel ratio to gain more power. Factory tunes are a safe bet. For those reasons and only two options to solve your problem, I'd add more gear. Unless you hire a tuner and get a custom tune where he dyno tests it and then road tests it in the...

    Need help with offline mapping

I've never been to the OSMAnd website. Their target market is probably city people. OSM is a community map. People submit trail data all the time. I spend 90% of my time outside the city and in the country. 10% is for getting supplies. I've spent years looking for a mapping provider. For back...

    Need help with offline mapping

Use a combination of paper maps look up your position on the map and coordinates from your phone. I have used OSMAnd for Android with an external battery powered bluetooth GPS receiver. The app is free and OpenStreetMap data. It does want you to buy stuff, but I haven't needed to. Download the...

    2008 Hummer H3 Alpha

It looks like that failure was severe. It is as if more torque was put to the diff than it was designed to handle. Any ideas on why it failed like that?

    Fiberglass truck camper build

Nice work. Looking good. I like the light foot print. Great for off-camber adventures off-road yet tall enough to stand up in.

Ok folks Kodiak or Springbar ?

Do you mean the Kodiak failures I had are my fault? I don't see where you are coming from. The ripped seam when the Kodiak failed was at the flexbow seam as pictured and not by the tent stake. Kodiak admitted to the defects. The tent was sprayed with water repellent and still failed with that...

Ok folks Kodiak or Springbar ?

I camp in the Kodiak Canvas bowflex 10' X 14' VX 8 man tent that has the extra windows. It is very, very nice in hot weather when there is a breeze. With all the windows down it makes me feel connected to nature. It is also nice to have the door open when the tent is positioned in view of the...

    Shiftpod tent

Looks nice for a fair weather day in the freezing winter. Once a front comes through and the wind starts blowing, I'm out of there.
