    Good and affordable?

'Diode dynamics' have come up quite a bit lately for sure. They are hard charging in PR for sure and looks to have some good, high output lights AND made in USA. Which to my knowledge only 'Baja Designs' is the only other brand that is.

Scepter MFC vs Wavian NATO fuel can

That sounds about right with CARB requirement.

Scepter MFC vs Wavian NATO fuel can

It's interesting how hard the Scepter cans are to find in the U.S. concidering they are standard equipment for the military! They are made in Canada and heard you can buy them all over up there, like at 'Canadian Harbor Freight' (whatever that shop is actually called I don't know)

    Good and affordable?

First thing I did was replace the crappy (and broken) OEM sealed beams with (also) Hella 'Euro spec' H4's. Made a big difference too, but now when using the auxiliary lights you barely see the high beams at all! ??

    Good and affordable?

I like companies that don't even ask when it's warranty and just give you new stuff. One big reason I got some 'Patagonia' clothing and gear. They give zero *******s if you abused if or simply just wore it out, they repair or replace it nomatter.

    Good and affordable?

Ended up getting four Hella 'ValueFit 500 LED' lights that I whipped up a stainless mount for. The lights where about 400 bucks delivered and I felt that even though they aren't the brightest out there and made in China (like most things...) the QC from Hella feels like better than many. And...

    Gentle tent

Lol! That was an inappropriate amount of censorship for the word I used (that I didn't know wasn't ok) Twice the stars vs. actual letters!

    Gentle tent

Since everyone like **********, it works great! ??

    Gentle tent

It's a clear trend with overlanding, sailing and homesteading video stuff i noticed, have a hot chick in the video picture and then 20 minutes of nothing of real interesting stuff, and 15 seconds of her doing something meaningless in a bikini. ?

    Post Pic's of your Jeep

Just picked up the FSR tent yesterday and 'need' to fabricate up some stuff to hold lights on the front but are 98% expedition ready as-is. Did a quick job and fabbed up a stainless bar for the front and mounted four Hella 500 LEDs on it. Bright enough @ 8400 lumens total and looks pretty nice I...

Suspension bang-for-buck: front versus back, leafs versus shocks?

For 'ride quality' the springs will be it. The dampers job is to control the springs from oscillating and won't do anything for how the vehicle drives, IF you don't get some that are for much heavier loads/springs, then they will make it really harsh. A remote reservoir isn't doing anything...

    Height needed to remove body?

It's easy, check local build codes based on different classification (regular garage vs. RV vs. 'shop' etc.) and then build maximum hight and size you can afford. You'll NEVER have to much room or hight! It's not like you'll regret having to much room under the rig when you lift the body off...

    Good and affordable?

Been thinking halogen and HID for distance but will likely do much slower moving while dark so close and peripheral light is likely better. Obviously good with both too! Seen 'black oak' pop up, I'll check them out closer.

    Good and affordable?

Been looking at getting auxiliary lighting for my rig and noticing something interesting. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground! It's either cheap '$59.95 super mega bright LED bar!' from China/Amazon or the top brands like Baja Designs, Lightforce, VisionX and Rigid (which the two latter...

How much does your expo Jeep weigh?

As an interesting fact (and a poke at you heavy weight Wrangler guys!) my 99.8% stock -97 XJ Cherokee was 3850lbs with a full tank of gas, a silly subwoofer in the trunk (came with the car...) and me in it (215lbs of pure muscle ;-) )

    My 1999 XJ build thread

Great build, and travels, thread 'cleanEG'! I just recently got a -97 XJ myself that I'm gonna build so it's been good with info and inspiration. Not sure how 'built' I really want it though... it's fun and cool with ability to go on really rough trails, but it needs a ton of reinforced parts...

    Next generation snatch block

Interesting and cool design for sure. But I like how they market it like 'lighter and stronger than a traditional snatch block' but the first review clearly show it to be heavier than a Warn block!

    BFG KM3's or.....

If you liked the KM2's the KM3's should be all the same but a little better. The tests I've seen all say that. They all also however say that they both are borderline suicidal on ice... But we all know only studded tires work on actual ice right!
