Hi Ed, The hitch is a 2” class 5 receiver. The drain line dumps straight outside the car so no buckets or storage are necessary for the gray water. The pop top is manual but I have lift struts to assist the opening. It can be opened and locked entirely from the inside of the car which is nice...

    2009 Poptop Suburban Stealth Camper

Hello! I don’t have a scientific answer for you on that one but I can say this, the shell itself is 120 lbs and is lifted with 4, 30lb gas struts. If you loaded it down the roof would need stronger struts to help lift it up, or you would only transport the boats on the roof and then remove them...

I would bolt anything you wanted on the factory roof rails on the top of the shell. The fiberglass is very strong and thick around the perimeter and is reinforced with a 1” x 1.5” band of plywood.

I did all of the fabricating and pop too build myself. It’s custom shaped from rigid insulation and wrapped in fiberglass like you would make a surfboard.

Hi Portal family, Behold a very rare, very unique camper rig. It goes without saying that there is a different tool for every job, and possibly a different vehicle for everyone's needs, but without a doubt if what you see here is what you want, you will most likely never see another one like...

Chevy Suburban pop top adventure build

I made the foam and worked out much like surf board construction. The difficult part about that is once I had a few layers on the foam I realized I needed to add the stiffness of a wood frame. To do that I excavated all the pink foam and started fiberglassing the wood in from the bottom. It was...

Hi thanks for t thanks for your excitement! The insulation is really easy to work with you can spray glue it and even screw it together. Then you sand just like a surfboard shaper to get all of your contours perfect. The wood frame did stay in there I fiberglassed it to the shell. The lift...
