    The Overlanding Podcast

Thanks for the feedback, it's an issue we are trying to resolve. We are new to the whole podcast game and especially digital recording. Hopefully the quality is getting better. Unfortunately, by the nature of what we do, we have to record many of the podcasts via Skype, this is proving...

    The Overlanding Podcast

Hi Guys, not sure if this is allowed on the forum but will give it a shot. We’ve set up a podcast dedicated to Overlanding (cyclists, cars, 4x4, motorcyclists and trucks). The venture is currently not commercial and definitely not for profit. The Overlanding Podcast is simply a vehicle for...

    Waterproofing Dralon? Autohome Airtop

Hi Guys We have an Autohome Airtop which we purchased in Dec 2011. The tent is amazing, but has been used for 350+ nights in all weather conditions from the top of mountains to the middle of deserts. We've recently noticed that in heavy rain water is starting to soak into the tent fabric and...

Around the World In 800 Days

You can catch up with blog posts over on our website - the car is currently out of action with a cracked cylinder head. We're trying to rustle up some cash to repair through crowd-funding. All is not well - the woes of overlanding. :(

    Galileo App for Apple

Has anyone had any experience using https://galileo-app.com for general navigation? Looking for something with worldwide coverage, that can work off-line and not cost a fortune. Always been a paper map user and feel the need to get with the times! Any suggestions for alternatives would also be...

    Looking for a snorkel pre-filter

We use a stocking, hold-ups or tights (in the UK). Cheap and replaceable all over the world. They work perfectly and cost nothing! We also lightly grease the air box which catches any really fine dust which might get through.

Around the World In 800 Days

We left the UK in May 2012 and drove up through Scandinavia to the Arctic Circle and then we drove across Russia to Lake Baikal before heading South into Mongolia. Whilst in Mongolia we received news that both my parents had been diagnosed with Cancer. We turned around and drove back to the UK...

SJC that is very well spotted, you must have eagle eyes. It's a home-made headphone pre-amp for our iPod. The signal on the iPod isn't great and so the amp acts as a signal booster before the music gets to the car stereo head unit. They work great if you like your music loud in headphones, here...

Around The World In 800 Days (Scandinavia, Russia and Mongolia)

Hi Brodyagi. No real problems with the car, except that we cracked the right-hand side rear upper trailing arm mount off the rear axle on the way home. We also had a few alternator and cooling system problems which were fixed easily in Russia. The car is Diesel so low octane fuel wasn't a...

Around The World In 800 Days (Scandinavia, Russia and Mongolia)

Thanks for the comments and interest. Way back in June the BBC made a short little film (which might not be viewable in all countries) about our adventure and the reasons for doing it. The film is now even more poignant considering the reason we came back. We are itching to get going again in...
