SOLD: 2016 Conqueror 440 Extreme Overland Travel Trailer

Dendy used to have one, Scott, and I fit in it. They're cool trailers. Did you get a new trailer, Dan? I haven't camped with you in ages. We're getting out next weekend, btw.

LED Headlight Upgrade vs LED Light Bar

I don't blame you for wanting to replace the H13 --- the single worst bulb foisted upon motorists in the modern era. Engineered (intentionally) to minimally compliant and enhance profits. They'll make a compliant LED drop-in eventually. Wish you were closer. I'd love to test those...

LED Headlight Upgrade vs LED Light Bar

Curious what you've got for drop-ins. AFAIK there aren't any yet that are compliant with FMVSS-108. Phillips was close, and I think they had a compliant H4 for Europe, but only marking/signaling bulbs so far.

    Cell Booster Antenna

I've been trying to find a 12v booster that covers B66 ---- my cel uses that the most. It's a newer band and nobody seems to cover it.

    GMRS

I noticed that on the specs. So if I get my wife one, her radio will be better than mine. sigh

    GMRS

Thanks, Dave. I had a Wouxun HT years ago ---- it mostly worked well but the receiver was funny and near-band strong signals splashed in like crazy. Did Wouxun get better since then? I lost the HT on a hike and switched to the bright orange/yellow Baofengs. Easier to spot in leaves...

    GMRS

I need a recommendation for a pair of full-power gmrs radios. I just got the license and want to use the radios primarily to keep in touch with the wife while camping in areas without cell service. She had stated that she wanted to get a ham license about 6 years ago --- yeah, that ain't...

    CB comparison

It's not all about the 102. I got legit 17 mile tx from a motorcycle with a 2' whip on a walkie and a groundplane kit from Lafayette. An antenna is part of a system and is the sum of the components. Make it all work in harmony.

Bands, frequency ranges best for receive only emergency info?

Holler at the local ARES where you're going, ask them for a short list, program it in before you go. There are ARES guys living on the edge of their sofas waiting for that request.

Bands, frequency ranges best for receive only emergency info?

Around here the NWS will link repeaters across the state when there's a weather emergency and will activate spotters. The repeater that I use is 146.805 +600 PL 100 --- if I spot something I hit that repeater and talk to the NWS in Peachtree City. It's a neat feature and I guess that other...

Stink in stored duffles, best way to get rid of bad odors?

Ozone also breaks down certain polymers at a molecular level. Might be fun to see what happens to manky old cordura.

I'm killing batteries -- time to go LiFePo4?

I've always used 12.2v as a rule of thumb. But your battery's spec sheet should give you the manufacturer's answer.
